my new bright green raincoat By MaybeBaby from Chesapeake Bay, MD on 07/14/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Windproof Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The zipper is on the wrong side or they sold me a womens' jacket. I have tried Cabelas and Bass Pro Shop Gore-tex rainwear. This is certainly more attractive and stylish. The outer layer doesn't appear as rugged but time will tell.
I ordered a size larger that fits, but still a little tight when layering. I would also add that the hood adjustment provide very good right and left vision.
The ski jacket I've been waiting for! By Flipboarder from New York, NY on 02/10/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: Skiing/Snowboarding, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I agree with the other reviewers that this jacket tends to run on the smaller side, maybe half a size smaller. Must be the European sizing... I am 6'2" 185lbs, athletic build and typically wear a large in jackets. I order the XL and seems to fit me well. The sleeves are slightly on the longer side, but the chest and over all fit is good. The color is phenominal, the green really stands out and people can easily identify me on the slopes. The jacket has a pocket for just about anything and the quality of the build is superb. I don't know if I would pay retail for this jacket, but with STP prices was definitley a wise investment!
By molykk from port huron, mi on 01/26/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Windproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Just got back from Deer Valley. Rain/snowed all day. All my other gear was soaked but not any up top. This is a great all around coat. I used it to ski in, and with a good base and insulation layer it was perfect
By Wavey from Mukilteo WA on 12/16/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: After reading the reviews, I ordered the XL, thinking the jacket would run small. I called and talked to customer support and they assured me that it fits true to size. I then ordered large also. Both jackets seemed to fit good, but the XL sleeves were noticeably longer. I also liked that the large fit. I strapped on my camel back and it was a good fit. I have been on two different hiking excursions cold temps, wet and snowy and the jacket kicked butt!!!! By Gunz from Rochester Hills, MI on 12/11/2008 Pros: Lightweight, Windproof Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is exceptionally small. I'm 6'8", with a 39" sleeve, and have had decent luck finding the right gear with a proper fit throughout the years. This jacekt in a 2xl size might have fit someone who typically wears a medium or large. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone who has a substantial frame. As my headline states, incredibly small!
highest quality with funky fit By Baber Hiker from Pikes Peak Region, CO on 12/09/2008 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Truly an outstanding jacket with a very wierd fit. It was very tight around the shoulders yet the arms were way too long. Not possible to layer underneath it so not a good winter shell. I'm 6'0 and 190 lbs so this problem is fitting is rare.
Great jacket except........ By AThiker from Brookfield , Connecticut on 11/30/2008 Best Uses: Backpackingmountainering Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a awsome jacket for the price. Lots of pockets, top quality product. Its a gore-tex pro shell with a very comfy liner.I like the fact that the jacket has extra length in the back. But it was to tight in the armpits, order 1 size bigger. Order 2 sizes bigger if you are going to layer under the shell.
Awesome Jacket that did not fit. By Cubby from Latrobe PA on 11/11/2008 Pros: Durable, Good Value, High Quality Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Well, I hope that it is a european sizing thing, because I had to send it back for being to small. The size was 2xl and I usually can squeeze into that size. I most likely could have gotten away with it without wearing anything underneath. It was an awesome jacket and a great value with all the discounts.
