The cashmere blend fabric has a very subtle sheen from the metallic threads. The adjustable brim has a wire in the edge, so it will hold whatever angle you wish--make it look like a cloche with the brim turned up in front, pull it down over your eye, etc. Keeps my head warm and won't blow off in a breeze.
great hat for winter in LA- By indian maiden from Los Angeles on 07/02/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Commuting, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual, Comfort-oriented, Practical, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: fun hat for which I have been looking--not too heavy for LA winters, but step up from straw hats. At first thought the sparkly silver threads were too much but then decided I like them for a subtle pizzazz
