I am pleased with this product. By Dr. C Bear from Alabama on 07/21/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Flattering, Nice Color, Nice Fabric, Versatile Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wanted a long, black wool skirt to wear with boots on cold winter days and evenings when I wanted to be dressed up. This skirt is perfect for me.
By Quantumwoman from Scenic Upstate New York on 06/10/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Flattering, Nice Color, Nice Fabric, Versatile Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Comfort vs Style: Style Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought two of these skirts for work. I am very pleased with the fit and color of both. Since they are wool, I won't wear them until fall, and will probably shorten them because they are a little long.
Be carefuil of color lots By Miss Power Walker from Fredericksburg, VA on 04/07/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Flattering, Nice Fabric Best Uses: Special Occasions, Wear To Work Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Comfort vs Style: Style Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased the Hawksley & Wight wool double-breasted blazer at the same time to match the skirt in the same red color to wear as a suit. However, they must have come from different color lots. The skirt was a darker red than the jacket. I'm returning both since I already have a red blazer and wanted to match these two pieces as a suit. Both colors of red were great -- but not when they don't match each other. Otherwise, I would have kept the skirt.
Quality not what I expected of HW By BK from LaGrange, Georgia on 01/13/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Wrinkle Resistant Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The size was small for a missy size 8. The fabric was very thin. Not what I expected from description as worsted wool. I purchased a Hawksley pleated long skirt last year and it was three times the weight as this skirt. I can see why the price was so low.
Nice skirt-great material By Lynn from Naples, FL on 12/19/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Flattering, High Quality, Nice Fabric, Versatile, Wrinkle Resistant Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a size 0-2 and ordered a 4 since the instructions said to order a size larger but I really could have used a 6 (for the waist). It fits fine now but if I gain a few pounds over the holidays it will be too tight in the waist.
Over all I love the skirts-I orderd in navy and black.
Cut and fabric are very good quality. By None from Virginia on 12/16/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, High Quality, Nice Fabric, Versatile Cons: Waist size not realistic Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Wear To Work Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The tailoring, style and fabric are very nice.
By Liz from Tulsa, OK on 12/08/2008 Pros: Flattering, High Quality, Nice Fabric Best Uses: Going Out, Wear To Work Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Comfort vs Style: Style Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The skirt is very good quality. The back slit/double kick pleat is very attractive. I love to wear the longer length. The only thing that I do not like is that the waist has elastic in a few inches of the waist band. I love this brand - the same quality as the career Austin Reed. I had purchased a couple of blazers 2 years ago and the skirts I just purchased are the same fabric so can be mixed or matched.
elastic waist was a surprise By classy professional from Boston, MA on 12/04/2008 Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The skirt description neglected to mention the elastic in the waistband. I do not like elasticized waistbands, so I will be returning this skirt. It's a pity, since I really liked the fabric and color.
By SO from Farmington, NM on 12/02/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Flattering, High Quality, Nice Fabric, Versatile Best Uses: Going Out, Wear To Work Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a classic skirt that can be worn to many different events depending on what you pair it with. The skirt does run small so order one size up. I buy classic clothes made of quality material so they will last a long time, and the material could have been be a bit heavier but because it is lined, it is acceptable. I am tall so the longer length was perfect for me. I ordered 2 other skirts by the same maker in different colors and I know all the skirts will become staple pieces in my wardrobe because of their versatility.
