As thick as the expedition weight!
By zea from NC on 01/14/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Snug Fit, Warm
Best Uses:
Cold Weather, Layering, Snow Sports
Describe Yourself:
Occasional Exerciser
Fit:
Feels too small
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
This is just as thick as the expedition weight top that I got in the same order, but the fabric and cut is a little different. It has a pretty trim fit overall, with cuffs that fit but don't stretch enough to push far up your arm. Arms and armholes are also trim, but not binding (at least for avg. size arms). Neck was fine for me (and I have a big head). I got the red-orange heather color; the inside is a soft fleece and the outside has a somewhat smooth polyester feel but no sheen -- looks more like cotton (unlike the expedition wt). You might want to go up a size if you like a looser fit, but for layering other stuff on top the trim fit is nice. Really happy with this shirt.

Amazingly Warm Long Underwear Shirt!
By MadgieVerified Reviewer from Portland, ME on 01/13/2009
Pros:
Moisture Wicking, Snug Fit, Warm
Cons:
Heavy
Best Uses:
Cold Weather, Layering, Snow Sports
Describe Yourself:
Occasional Exerciser
Fit:
Feels too small
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Probably I should have ordered a larger size. But that might have been too big? This fits me snugly but the sleeves are nice and long and the cuffs cover my wrists, which I love. Depending on what you're looking for, I might go in the direction of a larger size rather than a smaller size if I were you.

Comments:
I wore this shirt as a first layer when I was snowboarding this past weekend - flattering fit and good material. It was very warm and kept me comfortable. The fit is awesome aside from the tight neck. I will probably cut around the neck to make it a little less restrictive. Other than that its a great shirt!

Disappointed
By Gunny Skier from Gunnison, CO on 01/13/2009
Pros:
Warm
Cons:
Poor Fit
Describe Yourself:
Frequent Exerciser
Fit:
Feels true to size
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I could not wear this shirt. The neck opening was so small I almost couldn't get it on. When I had it on I felt like I had a rubberband around my neck. Otherwise the fit was correct and seemed like it would be warm and comfortable.

I got the mint color and it has a waffle fleece pattern on the inside. I work outside and am often cold. When I slip this on, I am toasty and happy.

warm but bulky
By b from Santa Barbara, CA on 01/05/2009
Pros:
Comfortable
Cons:
Heavy, Restricts Movement
Best Uses:
Cold Weather
Describe Yourself:
Occasional Exerciser
Fit:
Feels true to size
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
This thing is warm, but isn't the greatest fit for active wear. It's bulky, thick, and doesn't allow for efficient layering. Great for the price, but if you're a frequent cold-weather outdoors person, I'd recommend you invest more in a performance baselayer.
