By Mtn. Girl from north Idaho on 10/24/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Color, High Quality, Washes Well Cons: Belt "slippery", Waist belt loosens Best Uses: Casual Wear, Day Hikes, Wear To Work Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I own a pair of older Gramicci shorts, and love them; wear them constantly during the summer. When I saw these pants on STP with a great price, had to have them. Not disappointed, EXCEPT for the material the belt is made of. I am constantly sinching the waist belt as it loosens during the day. Other than that, they are super comfortable, nice looking, great color, perfect length, and good quality heavy-duty fabric. Would buy again.
almost like the originals By Nikao from Pittsfield, MA on 10/05/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Color, High Quality, Washes Well, Wrinkle-Free Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear these hiking, biking and just for hanging out.
why did Gramicci change the fit? By sue from california on 07/24/2009 Cons: Falls Too Low Below The Waist, Poor Fit Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I used to be a raft guide and the only pants I owned were Gramicci. Finally they all wore out and I replaced them recently with the reverse leg cut. It's not the "old original style" at all. The nylon belt is useless, pants fall down constantly (and I bought an extra-small), the legs are much wider than they used to be, especially at the bottom, and the hip area is much more roomy than it used to be, giving a slightly rotund look overall. I sent them back and hope Gramicci really does pull out their old patterns for the Original-original G-pant. I would stock up if they did.

By Buddy's Buddy from Virginia on 06/20/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I had a few pairs of these years ago, and they were the best ever. They finally turned into threads, so I ordered these to replace them. I like them to ride horses in, as the cut at the leg was a snugger fit than most pants & no seams in the crotch is a plus!
Fabric is the same, which is good. The fit is ENORMOUS. I am a solid size 10 (or 29-30" waist), and I ordered Medium first, and had to send back for a Small, which is a 6-8? I swear I could have gone with the XS, and it would fit my waist. And I am nowhere near a size 4, not on any planet. The cut is also nowhere near the "extreme" reverse leg described, I'd almost call it a straight leg. The old ones I had had a much snugger fit around the leg, with plenty of room to move.
The ribbon belt is just about useless...if you put anything of any weight, like keys or a wallet, in the pocket, the waist starts to droop around my hips. Of course, if I didn't have all this breathing room in the waist it might not slip!
I yearn for the pants that were, why would they change the fit so much?

My favorite Gramicci product By Joyce from New Jersey on 05/06/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Color, High Quality, Washes Well, Wrinkle-Free Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Gramicci must have changed their sizing in the past 10 years, because I always wore size Large. Now I need a Medium or Small. Also the leg at the ankle isn't as narrow as 10 years ago, but it's not a problem. Just need to always get the 'Reverse Leg' style. Highly adjustable waist allows for weight gain or loss, which is great!
By Catglobe from Franklin, MI on 03/08/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Flattering, Great Color, High Quality, Stylish Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these for camping/hiking trips, where I also may be in church or a nice restaurant. They fit well--I did not find the rise to be a problem, though I was fearful because of the other reviews. The slippery satin belt is definitely no good; it slides through the clip too easily. I will probably replace it with a cotton weave or something later.
