He is broad shouldered and muscular, and had trouble with a lot of other similar jackets. This one by far fit the best, and he loves it!

By j-roll from philly, pa on 10/02/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: i love this jacket! being into outdoor activities i have been waiting for a soft shell work jacket like this for a awhile. i wear a large and i ordered a large and it was a little tight. i dont like to bulk up under a jacket so its no big deal for me but if you like to i would suggest a larger size. the soft shell has a little stretch to it which is nice and is pretty darn durable, stands up to concrete work. although thin, i find it to be pretty warm, but thats a matter of opinion. the only thing i could ask for that this jacket isnt, is that it would be totally waterproof, not water resistant.
Nice quality - Too short to wear. By Dick from Erie PA on 02/21/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Windproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: If your going to get this get the tall.
Notice that all sizes small through XXL are all the same lenght? I got an XL as I have other Carhartt hoodies and jackets that fit well. It is way too short - short and wide. They make a tall that is 2inches longer I'd say if getting large or bigger must get the Tall.

By Patty - WI runner/biker mom from WI on 01/14/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this jacket looking for a lighter weight jacket for in between seasons for either of my older teenage boys. It sounded very good and we tried the L, which sounded like it would fit very well (42-44) but
it was too stiff for them, too tight fitting, and short in sleeve length. We've never bought tall mens before, but maybe with this brand or jacket, we should.
By Powder Sasquatch the Softshell Warior :- from Jackson Hole, Wyoming on 12/08/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Softshell delight. Resists abrasions and snags around the job site. Repels Wind and Snow easily. Does well with spotty, light rain; torrential downpours will get the best of this coat eventually. Hood is a quick fix for drafts and weather coming at you. I stumbled across this while looking at carhart and am so happy to find them utilizing softshell for serious work clothes...bout time someone did. It is the best choice

By Briz from Providence, RI on 11/23/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use this jacket in the construction industry. It is lightweight and flexible with layers worn underneath. Wind and water resistant. Hood fits over hardhat. Very happy with this purchase, however too soon to tell on the durability of the fabric.
