Warm & Comfortable to wear By steelester from hershey, pa on 01/06/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Runs a little small in the chest area.
By ndnskiier from too far east on 12/31/2008 Pros: Lightweight, Windproof Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought this to be my go-to outer layer on ski trips in the southwest. Wind resistance is necessary. It does that well. Not quite as warm as I expected, but very breathable. Needs a base and middle on cold days. Fabric is more nylon than schoeller, but still a nice hand. Arc-teryx is one of my favorite makers, but they run small in the chest and long in the arms so that I am between M and L in most of their outer wear.
By pentaxer from Empire State on 12/18/2008 Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Have to return because of the cut. It does not fit me well in the chest/underarm area. The feelings... bulky, I would say. Sleeves are too long for an average person.
Great warmth and it moves well with an outer shell on the top.
Great lightweight insulated softshell By patagoniac from orange county, CA on 12/14/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Windproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Lightweight and thin insulation. The jacket is warm for how thin it is. The jacket has a trim fit, and therefore you can't put it on over a fleece layer. The fit feels like it is tailored. Cozy hand pockets, the insulation is on the outside of he hand pockets, which gives your hands some insulation. Cuffs are a raglan style, for people who don't like velcro cuffs. The sleeves are trim, so sometimes your shirt sleeves ride up inside the jacket.
By norhern michigander from gaylord, MI on 12/10/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: First let me tell you what i don't like about most "warm" softshells....the high pile fleece that serves as the insulator is bulky, preventing the softshell from moving with you, and tends to grab any other layer you may be wearing underneath. they just seem uncomfortable to me. this softshell's insulation is not bulky, is warm, and is lined with a thin nylon fabric for ease of movement and comfort. important note: it is an athletic cut piece, but does not feel "small".
