60lb female American Bulldog/Bull breed By Eric in Cincinnati from Cincinnati, Ohio on 09/02/2009 Pros: Fun, Good Value, Tough, Versatile Best Uses: Larger Pets, Travel Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought the medium for my 60lb female bull breed. Very happy with the fit. Haven't traveled with it yet, but have taken my dogs on walks with dog food in them to get them used to the feeling of carrying it. The key is putting it on them and then walking right away so they don't have time to wonder what's up. 30 seconds into each walk, it was like they didnt' even have the pack on.
One thing, these bags are pretty big. They are basically saddle bags for dogs. If you want something that is just up on their shoulders, this may be too big. If you want a dog to be able to pack in their own food for a few days of camping, this is perfection!
By Thumper's person from Pennsylvania on 09/01/2009 Pros: Fun, Good Value, Tough, Versatile Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This pack is great! I just adopted a VERY hyper Border collie, who wasn't walked regularly. She took to the pack right away and now she wears it on all of our daily walks - she carries her frisbee, lead line, extra bags and her water bowl! She now has a job and it has helped SOO much - people are always stopping me and asking me where I got it!! Perfect pack for sharing the load! By PioneerNM from Jemez Springs, NM on 08/21/2009 Pros: Fun, Good Value, Tough Best Uses: Larger Pets, Travel Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love this pack! I have two dogs and have used it on both. I only bought one to see if it would work and now I wish I would have bought two! So, I am online buying another. The dogs love it...in fact it helped to slow one of mine down a little; which I needed to do. I have used it numerous times for backpacking trips and it is a great pack to help share the load! I highly recommend it. Easy to put on and stays in place - just make sure you keep the weight balanced on both sides.
By Donnakayaker from Lakeland, FL on 08/20/2009 Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have a German Shepherd and this medium pack fits her well. I almost ordered a large so keep in mind that a medium will fit a large dog. Images shared by: DonnakayakerReady to go! Tags: Made with Product
Great Pack for the price! By Outdoor Enthusiast from Wenatchee WA on 08/19/2009 Cons: Straps need more padding Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is our second Mountain Smith pack and we love this brand. Our first one we purchased two years ago and is going strong - we got a second dog and needed a second pack. The straps could be better designed with more padding - but don't seem to chafe too much.
By G from San Diego on 08/19/2009 Pros: Fun, Good Value, Tough Best Uses: Larger Pets, Travel, Younger Pets Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: We do a lot of hiking and backpacking with the dogs. I all ready had 3 dog back packs, but I needed another one as this is the first male dog I have had and the other 3 packs were longer in length and didn't work well when he lifted his leg. I never thought about this before until he hit the pack while peeing. This pack is shorter length wise, yet has lots of storage room which we need for the longer back packing trips. The dogs carry all their own supplies. So far the pack carries very well, easy to put on and I really like the compression straps. I also like the top handle for helping him up and over things. The pack does run large in size as all the straps are as tight as possible and he is 68 lbs. I ordered the medium size as I needed the larger compartments, due to the amount of water and food needed. So far, the pack is functioning great and I love it! So does he.

appears to be very good quality By Jeep Grandma from Wisconsin on 08/05/2009 Best Uses: Travel, Younger Pets Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Have not been able to use it yet. When we get our new puppy (and he gets a bit bigger) I plan to use it for "Cesar walks". The reviews were very good compared to some other packs I looked at.
By Oso's Mom from Santa Fe, NM on 07/06/2009 Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: We went on an over night hike in the Pecos wilderness. My dog carried his food, his friend's food and their water. It stayed on and was easy to use.
