My wife wishes it had a skirt to match the jacket, but a black skirt or pants will go very well. Sleeves are slightly long, but well worth alteration.
By DC Rider from Washington, DC on 12/13/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Nice fabric Best Uses: Office, Work Meetings Describe Yourself: Classic, Comfort-oriented, High-end shopper, Practical Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have to admit I love Austin Reed classic clothing for business wear, but jackets that diverge from the classic timeless look too much don't do it for me. So I am disappointed especially as the matching pants separate are great. This item just misses the mark, maybe an effort to be just a bit too trendy, but did not find this cut AR's usual standard of classic lines. A bit too boxy in hem, with the "waist" cut too high and princess-like,with slightly oversize too-dark buttons that might be an attempt to mimic retro 50's. Small in shoulders compared to an overly generous body that would need to be taken in by about 2.5 inches through the torso to fit well and hang better. Cut is both too long too be chic and about an inch too short to meet the definition of classic. Sleeves proportionately a little long. As usual for womens' jackets, the crying need for functional internal pockets to carry ID, $, modern gadgetry around the office building without dragging a ridiculous purse along to business meetings is a requisite. Fabric is nice, classic plaid with subtle colors including a thread of nice peach woven through, and feels good, construction is quite good. Very sorry this doesn't work for me. I would recommend this to a friend with the above style caveats and if they have a body type that is more narrow-shouldered and more full / short torso and belly.

The material is rich and expensive. Great value.
