By DGB from Golden, CO on 01/26/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I returned these because they were so bulky that I could not grip my ski pole. I was hoping to use them for skiing because my hands get cold. No doubt they're warm, but they're not for sports.

By FROGGY from WISCONSIN on 01/07/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I USUALLY WEAR A SMALL IN A MITTEN AND I ORDERED A LARGE IN THIS MITTEN. IT FELT GOOD IN SIZE BUT THEY LOOKED HUGE ON ME AND THEY WERE WAY TO BULKY FOR ME. I SENT THEM BACK. THEY LOOKED TO BE WARM BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW PEOPLE COULD HOLD ONTO OR GRASP ANYTHING THEY WERE SO THICK. I GAVE THEM 3 STARS BECAUSE THEY WERE MADE WELL AND LOOK LIKE THEY WOULD BE VERY WARM FOR SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT MIND THE BULKY THICKNESS IN A MITTEN.
By Mike from Houston on 01/05/2009 Pros: Durable, Warm, Windproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Downhill Describe Yourself: Advanced Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very warm even at -10 to -20 with 20 knots of breeze. Very windproof except the thumb, however with real mitten liners it is easy to warm up your thumbs. It takes a little practice to master putting on the ski pole straps, but do-able. Very easy to put on and take off. Warmest gloves ever.

-48 and my hand were WARM! By North Pole Horse Owner from North Pole, Alaska on 12/31/2008 Pros: Durable, Incredibly WARM, Snug Fit, Warm, Windproof Cons: Bulky - but needs to be Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Winter Horse Care Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter ridingchores, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: We were just out at -48 (truly) blanketing our horses (amazing how well they adapt to these crazy temperatures) for over 40 minutes. I have whimpy hands and my thumbs got cold for a few minutes, but then they warmed up! That's a first for me - usually once my hands or toes get cold the only remedy is to go inside and warm them up. My hands were truly comfortable the entire time. These mittens are not good for anything that requires fine manual dexterity, but if you're looking for warm hand in the most extreme conditions - buy these mittens! By North Pole Lady from North Pole, Alaska on 12/31/2008 Pros: Durable, Impossibly Warm, Snug Fit, Warm, Windproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Hiking/Running, Horse Chores at -40 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, NPole Alaska Winters, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is the best mitten I've ever had. I never expected this mitten to actually keep my hand totally warm at -48, but they did. I expected my hands to be warmer than with other mittens, but my hands were totally warm for over 30 minutes at these crazy temperatures. Amazing! Buy them if you need warm hands.
By Julius from Minnesota on 12/30/2008 Pros: Durable, Warm, Water Resistant, Windproof Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wife wears to walk the dog in winter, and she tends to be very cold; first mittens she has described as warm.
By North Pole Lady from North Pole, Alaska on 12/30/2008 Pros: Durable, Warm, Windproof, Winter horse back riding Best Uses: Backcountry, Winter horse back riding Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is an excellent, well made mitten. Very durable. We went on a 2 hour horse back ride at zero degrees and I had to take the outer shell off and just wear the liners. I have NEVER had warm hands before without handwarmers inside my mittens. The liners ALONE kept my hands warm for the entire ride. They are bulky and difficult to work with, but for riding, throwing hay, raking the paddock -- they are incredible. I'd recommend them to anyone. Just buy one size larger.
