By In Search of Warm Hands from Upper Midwest US on 01/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Driving, Snowshoeing Winter Walk Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have endured upper Midwest winters for over 5 years now, and my hands are *finally* warm! I wore these on a 2-mile walk when it was 0 degrees and my hands stayed warm, and I wore them snowshoeing on a -5 degree day and my hands were still warm.
While I can maneuver pretty well in these mittens (e.g. getting in/out of the car, driving, etc.), I do have to take them off to do fine motor skill activities like put on/off my snowshoes or buckle a child in a car seat. Because of this, I sometimes wear a pair of liner gloves just so my hands are protected.
Overall though, I am very happy with these mittens and I wish I had found them several winters ago!
By Warm Skier from Vail, CO on 01/22/2009 Best Uses: Great for skiing in CO Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great for women who get cold hands; mittens are warmer than gloves!
By Leann Warm Hands from Rockville, MD on 01/22/2009 Pros: Durable, Good Grip, Snug Fit, Warm, Water Resistant, Windproof Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I work with children that we take outside daily in freezing temperatures for 30 minutes to one hour. I tried lots of gloves and some mittens but my hands would be painfully cold. I am now comfortable outside. The best test was standing on the Mall in Washington DC at the inauguration for 9 hours on a day with windchill at 15 degrees and I was just fine.

Dollar for dollar they are the best mitten/glove purchase I have ever made. Was delighted when you had them. I do hope Grandoe does not discontinue them. I have recomented this mitten to friends and they have purchased them from you.

Warm, very soft leather mitten By PinkSkiR from Arvada, CO on 01/11/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Pliable leather, Warm, Windproof Cons: A bit difficult to get on, Short cuff Describe Yourself: Advanced Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am always the coldest one in any crowd. These mittens are the warmest I have found short of an expedition mitten that won't allow for gripping a ski pole. The only improvement I would suggest is a longer, gauntlet cuff with pull to tighten.
By mom from alaska on 01/03/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I researched to find the warmest mittens. These really are warm. I bought my daughter size large women's and my sister size small men's. They are still on the small side. Order bigger than usual and go up one more size would be my advice. I can't drive with them right now but they might get more form fitting with use. Wonderful for winter walking in sub zero weather.
