Definitely not water "proof"
By dampallover from Mississippi on 11/22/2008
Pros:
Comfortable, Good Weight, Stylish
Cons:
Poor Craftsmanship
Best Uses:
Casual Wear
Describe Yourself:
Frequent Exerciser
Fit:
Feels true to size
Sleeve Length:
Feels true to length
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Not much of a raincoat. Rain soaked through within the first two minutes of the shower and saturated the fabric. Took a day to dry out the coat. Not what I expected from this coat. Whatever their "unique water repellent treatment" was, they need to go back to the drawing board.

Comments:
The raincoat is as advertised. I'm pleased with it. I've had the chance to wear it a few times already. I only question that it was originally price at over [$], as the quality, while certainly acceptable, does not seem that good.

Good Coat But Watch Out For Sizing
By jkVerified Reviewer from IA on 11/08/2008
Pros:
Breathable, Comfortable, Drawstring Waist, Good hood, Light weight, Stylish, Well made
Cons:
European Sizing, Fits Very Small, No zipper placket, Smallish pockets
Best Uses:
Casual Wear, layering, Wet Weather
Describe Yourself:
Frequent Exerciser
Fit:
Feels too small
Sleeve Length:
Feels too short
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I bought this as a light weight short hooded rain coat, to layer over a fleece jacket or a sweater. It's hard to find a coat like that! I like the mid thigh length, the burgundy color and the simple styling. I like the generous drawstring hood, and the drawstring waist. It's unlined and mostly cotton, with a water resistant finish, so it's breathable, and even wind resistant. And it's a great bargain, although there are reasons for that. The pockets are on the small side, and it doesn't have a hanging loop or a zipper placket - those are minor flaws. BUT - this is major - the European sizing obviously isn't translated well into American sizes. I'm 5'7", 145 lb, and normally wear a medium - so I ordered a 10, but it was very small - more like a 6 or 8. I re-ordered a 14, which was perfect. Even a 16 would have worked.

Cut too tight in the back
By AC from Marin, CA on 11/08/2008
Pros:

Cons:
Poor Fit, Restricts Movement
Best Uses:
Casual Wear, Wet Weather
Describe Yourself:
Frequent Exerciser
Fit:
Feels too small
Sleeve Length:
Feels true to length
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I wear a size 10, but got a 12; returned it for a 14(!) and that one was still too tight in the back for comfortable movement, so I returned it, too. Too bad, it's a nice jacket otherwise.

Cons:
Restricts Movement
Best Uses:
Casual Wear, Wet Weather

Frequent Exerciser
Fit:
Feels too small
Sleeve Length:
Feels true to length
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Was disappointed in the overall quality and styling of this raincoat, perhaps being misled by the Harve Bernard label. Although it is functional and lightweight, I found that it "just" fit, even though I ordered a size that would usually allow for layering clothing underneath. It is extremely casual in overall look, and not very fashionable.
