I've seen them elsewhere for more than twice the STP price and seen them sell out before I could even order. In the end that was my good fortune.
This model is knit from new wool, soft and smooth as cotton. My Bearded Collie sheepdog wants to make off with it. The Glover Peregrine sweater is English, not Irish, but at least it was made in the British Isles and not the Orient. Top quality!

By Ian from Frederick MD on 01/14/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, High Quality Describe Yourself: High-end shopper Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered XL, I have a 43 inch chest and XL should have been 46-48. The sweater that arrived was way too short, tight, and had no label on it, I suspect that I was sent one that was too small. [...]

Not terribly bulky but is heavyweight. Looks great with jeans or cords!

Very nice sweater. I love it. By Mike the Mick from Philadelphia, PA on 01/12/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Flattering, High Quality, Lightweight Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Conservative, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am semi retired and drive a school bus during the school year. In the winter it gets mighty cold in southeast PA, but this bulky wool sweater will help keep me warm in those freezing mornings.
By Frequent Buyer in Santa Fe from Santa Fe NM on 01/12/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Flattering, High Quality Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, High-end shopper, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: a beautiful dark blue that I ordered is just the alternative I needed to seveal ecru/white Aran sweaters I already own. The Peregrined is made of nice wool, has the requisite cables and typical designs, and is very well made.
Very good buy! A great sweater, I think.
By Beatriz from Charlottesville, VA on 01/08/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, High Quality Describe Yourself: High-end shopper Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: A Holiday gift for my husband. After wearing it twice, the BOTTOM of the sweater stretched to the point where it looked very unattractive & to him uncomfortable. He is 5'10" & 170 lbs., narrow hipped, so there is no reason for this. There is no "elasticity" on the bottom of the sweater (for lack of a better word) & as a result it does not cling to the hips. It becomes very, very wide. Does not look good, trust me. The quality is there & will buy from Sierra again, but this is a minus & not a good purchase on my part.
By Oak Fan from New Jersey on 01/07/2009 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Office Describe Yourself: Conservative, Practical Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The sweater is fairly itch-free but it would be nice if it had a tighter weave. When I wear a white undershirt it shows through the sweater. I like the higher neck better than an ordinary crew collar.
