The collar is a bit snug if worn up and the cut is somewhat short-waisted, but overall I'm very happy with it.
By Betsy from New York on 11/09/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Lightweight, Well Made Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great jacket for autumn. Lightweight and just warm enough for chilly fall days. I am a size 10/12 and the large was perfect. I thought about getting the xl because I have broad shoulders but it really would have been too big. As for the collar, it is tall and narrow but I don't know when I would actually ever close it all the way. This jacket is very classic and chic at the same time. Love it! Great price too!
By Enchanted from Upstate NY on 11/02/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm, Well Made Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear this to work as well as on the weekends. It is lightweight, casual and has great lines. Sleeves are a bit long, but otherwise, it is a wonderful jacket.
Classic British style but... By sarah from new york, new york on 10/27/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Versatile Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I wanted to love this jacket. It had all the British style that waxed coats should have but the neck on the jacket wouln't fit anyone. When zipped, it was up over my ears, impossible to wear. Unless you have a long, very long neck, you might want to pass.
I love it--chic and practical By Alex's mother from Washington DC on 10/04/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Cut Cons: Collar to small to buckle Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Travel Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Fits one size too small. I had to return the large(I'm a 12) and order the XL
My 10 year old Barbour waxed cotton was worn out--what a wonderful
replacement.
Lovely if you have a very long neck By Londoner from Chicago on 07/09/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Lightweight, Versatile, Well Made Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Had to return this jacket, sadly. It's very well made and a great cut everywhere except the stand up collar. It's very tall (right up under the ears) and extremely narrow, so much so that I couldn't even do it up, and I'm 5' 7" and not overweight at all.
Lovely if have a very long slender neck By Lion in Winter from Chicago, IL on 07/06/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Lovely jacket, beautiful cut in the body, high armhole cut so not baggy around the chest and under the arms. Only and major problem was the cut of the neck/collar - it's very high and very narrow, so that I could barely do the neck strap up on the widest setting and that felt tight without even closing the throat of the jacket. I'm 5' 7" and not at all overweight, so it wasn't that. Very regretfully had to send it back.
By Carmen from New York, NY on 06/09/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm, Well Made Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love it. I'm 5'9" and weigh 150 lbs, and Medium is a perfect fit. This type of garment could easily look unisex, but this specific jacket tapers nicely and looks like a woman's jacket. The length is perfect too: when I sit, I'm not sitting on it, so it's perfect whether I'm sitting in a saddle or a subway. Only wish it came in hunter green too--I'd buy another!
By carmen from new york, ny on 06/04/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Well Made Cons: Wish it was Hunter green Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm 5'9 and 150 lbs and wanted a tailored fit, and the M is just right. Check the US vs the UK sizing before you choose; that should help get the fit right. This jacket looks better in person than in the photo! If they made one in Hunter green I'd order it as well.
By Carmen from New York, NY on 06/01/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm, Well Made Cons: Wish it was Hunter green Best Uses: Daily Use, Horseback riding, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm 5'9 and 150 lbs, and M is a great fit, even for my long arms. While jackets of this type often look unisex, this particular jacket has a feminine cut, being tailored in the waist and belling out a bit over the hip. The length is perfect - when I sit down, I'm not sitting on the jacket, but its bottom hits whatever I'm sitting on, whether it's a subway seat or a saddle. Great pockets; warm collar; lightweight enough; good for walking around New York or riding a horse in the woods. Only wish I could get one in Hunter Green!
