Beautiful top. Just didn't fit me. By wannacycleallday from New York City on 11/08/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish Cons: Too light for cycling Best Uses: Anytime, Around Town Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this top based on the excellent reviews. I wanted it for a cycling base layer. Had it fit me it would have been used more for around the city than for exercise. It's that nice. For cycling in cold weather, it seems a bit too thin but the styling on this piece is very flattering. The spice red color is very rich looking without being loud. Alas, I have very narrow shoulders and the fabric didn't sit well in the shoulders or the chest. But I still give it 4 stars.
By yoga want-a-be from kansas on 11/04/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish Describe Yourself: Occasional Exerciser Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love this base layer. Actually, I wear a t-shirt under it to wear around the house or to do outside activities but I plan to use it as a second layer when I go skiing. It is very, very soft. I bought the blue and it is very pretty and has a shine which makes look nicer than fleece. The size was true. I like that it is fitted. I bought 3 more to give as gifts for Christmas.
By claudia from Fairfax,ca on 10/27/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Flattering, Lightweight, Soft and stretchy, Stylish Best Uses: Anytime, Biking, Cold Weather, Hiking, Running, Skiing Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've been buying these for years, in different colors. They last, feel wonderful, indispensable to any winter exerciser's wardrobe. The style remains the same, so you can buy new colors & know the size & fit will be consistent.
My husband wants one!
Wonderful piece of technical gear! By Climbing Laura from Boulder CO on 10/06/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Great color, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual, Cold Weather, Hiking, Running Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Snow Angels makes some of the best fabric around! This piece is made out of their "doeskin" (synthetic) which has rich color and is just slightly shiny. It's super soft and well made. This zip turtleneck is just the right length - hits just below the hips, doesn't ride up and is long enough to tuck in. The seams are well sewn, not itchy, and it's made to hug your waist. The fabric dries really fast and wicks sweat, but it's stylish enough to wear around town. This is one of the few garments I have that really lives up to its own advertising! I love Snow Angels and would buy from them again and again.
Beautiful quality turtleneck By ElizVail from Edwards, CO on 09/29/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Rich color, Stylish Best Uses: Anytime, Cold Weather, Competition, Cycling, Running Describe Yourself: Conditioning Exerciser Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am quite impressed with the quality and appearance of Snow Angel products and am finally figuring out the fit. A lightweight base layer like the ALTERRA fits quite snugly (though comfortable and not biding), probably too much so to wear this thinner fabric as a shirt by itself in your normal size, or unless you buy a larger size than normal. So a small fits me as a base layer, but is too tight and revealing as turtleneck by itself. The advantage is you hardly know it's there under another shirt.
On the other hand, though this ANGEL DOESKIN ZIP is called a base layer it is definitely sized a bit larger, and along with the fabric, which I agree feels and even looks like cashmere, it is lovely worn alone. I bought the red, and it is rich looking and somehow some fabric designer has managed to make a soft slightly stretchy fabric that even has a slight sheen to it. It also has flat seems down each side of the front to make the shirt conform in a flattering way to your chest and torso.
I put it on to try the size and left it on the rest of the day in the cool house, and outside for gardening. It will look great with jeans, or under another layer for skiing, hiking or running on cold days.
I know it will be a favorite basic in my wardrobe and just ordered it in brown and pale blue, also small. I will enjoy this shirt as comfortable as a soft pair of pajamas, yet styled nicely enough to go out for a casual dinner.
