Great Maternity dress, but.... By knitpicky from arlington, va on 06/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Nice Fabric Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Comfort vs Style: Style Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm not pregnant, but I think this would probably work on an expactant mom. The waist is all wrong for most women - it falls somewhere between empire and true waistline, which is just unflattering. The other drawback for me was the extremely deep v-neck... way too low. I did like the green color
By Someone who appreciates these reviews from Rockleigh, NJ on 05/26/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Nice Color, Nice Fabric, Versatile Best Uses: Casual Wear, Night Out, Special Occasions Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I agree with the review who said it is low cut. However, it is darling with a camisole underneath and I will not wear it without soemthing underneath. Also, it is neither at the waist nor an empire waist. It would be better if it was a bit higher waisted and I will fix it (because I sew). The color is lovely, the drape is lovely. I am glad that I bought it but it's not for everyone. It's propbably best with a slender torso (hides bigger hips or thighs).
By cleveland shopper from cleveland on 05/01/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Nice Fabric Cons: Not sized for ample chest, Poor Fit Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a pretty dress. Very small in chest- will need to wear camisole underneath. Very long and I am 5'6". Cute for the right person but does not look like it does int he catalogue.
By Candy from VA on 04/19/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Flattering, Nice Color, Nice Fabric, Versatile Best Uses: Casual Wear, Night Out Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Comfort vs Style: Style Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This dress can be worn many places . . . add a necklace, scraf, sweater, etc. I teach . . . it's too long for work and the V too low. But . . .I could wear it for any other occasion.
By busy new mom from Seattle, WA on 04/14/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Nice Color, Nice Fabric Best Uses: Casual Wear, Night Out Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I loved this dress but the waist was tooo high for me. I am tall so the length of the dress was good, but the empire waist was so high it looked like a maternity dress on me. I wanted to keep it so bad - the yummy fabric and drape would make it a nice piece to dress up or down. But not for me.
By Karen from Scarsdale, NY on 04/10/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Nice Fabric Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm 32-week pregnant, and I was looking for a long comfy dress. I knew this is not a maternity dress. However, by looking at the cut and style from the picture, I know I can wear this dress now and after the baby arrives in summer.
When I received the dress and tried it on, it was just what I expected. I've already wore it once and toped it with a sunshine yellow cropped cardigan. (My dress is brown.) I felt great, and
my husband said I look pretty. Another plus!
By Teacher from Beaverton, OR on 04/10/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Nice Fabric, Versatile Best Uses: Casual Wear, Night Out Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I agree that this dress runs small but that worked to my advantage. Other reviewers commented on the long length. This also works to my advantage.
By Jolene from Austin TX on 04/05/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Nice Fabric, Versatile Best Uses: Casual Wear, Night Out Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm returning this one. The style and fabric are great, but the cut is really weird. Even though it's lower cut than I usually wear, I'm okay with that, and it's perfect in length, (I like things a bit on the long side) but the bodice is cut too small - my upper body looks like an overstuffed sausage. How flattering is that? YUCK!
By returnedtheitem from Lumberton, TX on 04/03/2009 Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Only suitable for an extremely "well-endowed" woman with a very small frame. The "waist" is neither empire or standard (somewhere in-between).
By beckyleeprice from Pittsburgh, PA on 02/10/2009 Pros: Nice Color, Nice Fabric Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wear To Work Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I am always looking for clothing that will be stylish, yet comfortable, travel well, and not have to be ironed or fussed over. I have also bought other items from this brand and loved them. This dress fit very oddly, though; the skirt is way too long and yet the waist falls too high for the natural waistline and too low for an empire waistline. I sew but stretch knits are difficult to work with so I wouldn't even attempt to hem the dress and had to return it.
