By Kat from Burlington VT on 03/12/2009 Pros: Durable, Stylish, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Downhill Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a solid jacket. Love that the hood is big enough to fit over a helmet but can be cinched to fit just the head too. In addition to being a great performance item it's very stylish.
Great jacket, weird sizing By Gambel from Western Colorado on 03/05/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this to have a non-bulky jacket to ski in (telemark, cross country, or alpine) and for cold weather hiking in the mountains. It is a great jacket, excellent lines and features. The sizing is confusing, though. I took the advice of other customers and ordered a size large, when I normally am a true medium. The large is too big, and the sleeves are very long--not sure if that is a normal length for a large, but I was surprised at how long they are. It is hard to figure out if the jacket is too big in the hips because of the length, or if the medium will be too narrow (I wear an 8 or 10 pant). I want a jacket that I can wear layers under, but this one ends up being to bulky because of the odd sizing. I will try the medium, but am curious if it will allow for layering.
By Chikadu from Saratoga Springs, UT on 02/25/2009 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Getting Started Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got an xs and that is my usual size and it fits perfect. I love that the sleeves are still long enough on my arms even though it is an xs.
I really like the color. I got the blue color. It is not too dark or too light. I can wear this year round. I also like that there is no blaring advertisement logo. That is one of the main reasons I got the jacket. It is well made and I will enjoy it for years to come!
By Irene from N. California on 02/24/2009 Pros: Breathable, Detachable hood, Durable, Pit Zips, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Downhill Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Got this jacket on sale, so really great deal b/c this is a well made OR product for a really good price! Love the blue colour - will be wearing it around town, tho I can see why other reviewers liked it for boarding as well (I've detached the snow skirt for my daily use). Love the fact that there was NO velcro around the neck (so it doesn't scratch my chin) and the inside sueded/fleece feel is very nice! I've worn it about in the rain and it keeps me nice and dry and warm!
By Victoria D from Nashville, TN on 02/18/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Cons: Neck circum too small Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is great. Lots of pockets, durable, warmer than I'd expect for a shell, and flattering. I love the blue gray color. The only thing that bothered me is the neck circumference is too small when zipped up to fit around my chin or face. If it was a bit bigger around the neck it would be absolutely perfect.
By Celia from Upstate NY on 01/31/2009 Pros: Good array of pockets, Lightweight, VERY breathable, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels too small Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I haven't really tested its waterproof quality, but can vouch for it being very breathable. If anything, maybe more than some would like in terms of warmth. I find that I have to have a fleece layer to be warm at temps in the low 20's on a grey day. My only negative is sizing - I normally wear a size 8-12 and getting a Large on this jacket was about as low as I'd want to go to have room for layers around my hips.
Flexible, Waterproof & Fabulous By Crissy from New Jersey on 01/22/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Flexible, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: After 7 days of use snowboarding in Wyoming I was very happy. I ordered one size up for layering. Powder skirt seems slightly snugger than it should be but was effective in powder conditions. The skirt also zips out when not needed. It has a soft durable exterior that is quiet with movement and highly flexible while being waterproof. This jacket is a shell and is not insulated. Thanks to STP for a great jacket at a great price.
By Jacket Collector from Seattle, WA on 01/21/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Stylish, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Cons: Sizing seems to run small Best Uses: Casual Wear, Everyday use, Hiking, Walking around town Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Jacket material is very nice and looks like it will wear well for everyday for work. Sizing seems to run small; I usually wear a size medium for most outerwear jackets, but based on some of the other reviews, I ordered a size large. I'm glad I did as this will allow me to add layers under for more warmth. The jacket was not oversize at all, but the sleeves were a bit long for me. Pomegranate color was darker than pictured. I reordered the jacket in the grey blue color and find this to be a nice shade of blue.
By Kim from Seattle, WA on 01/15/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Casual Wear, Downhill Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought for our 29 yr old. Stylish, this green is great on red-heads. Fits well with oh so many features. She wears a 2 or 4 we bought a 6 and it is about right for layers.
great jacket, feels too small. By hillgal from fort collins, CO on 01/13/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels too small Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great jacket just feels too small for size. I'm usually a small and ordered the medium in this and it fits like a small....if not smaller. I wanted shell that had room for layers. I will return and get a large and hope it is accommodating enough. Arms were good in the Medium but the torso and body were nearly tight on me. Very well made jacket though. I like the blue color.
