Outdoor Research Essence T-Shirt By buyer from santa cruz, CA on 09/12/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Soft, Washes Well Describe Yourself: Practical Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: comfortable for hiking however, a little short.
Great fabric, nice color! Too short. By Hiker chick from Cambridge, MA on 07/10/2009 Cons: Short in waist length Best Uses: Backpacking, base layer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I really loved this shirt-- great fabric quality, flattering, great color (bluejay). But it hit just slightly below the waist on regular pants. With bending down or a lower-rise pair of pants, that means exposed skin for the bugs. Someone else warned that the pic was deceptive, and I must agree. Mentally, try lopping off 1/4 of the total shirt, and you'd see what mine was like (sometimes with closeouts this is not true for all colors, but it was for bluejay). Had to return it, but I was very sad about it!
By a from cleveland, oh on 06/05/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Soft, Stylish Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Practical Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: OR makes great quality products, but I had to return this. It was just too short even before being washed. I'm only 5'2" and I'm not all torso or anything. I can only imagine what it would look like after being washed a few times. The picture is very deceiving when it comes to the length. If you don't like hiking in belly shirts, pass on this one.

By Freestylee from MT Mtns on 05/06/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Great Length, Lightweight, Soft, Stylish, Versatile Best Uses: Casual, Exercise, Going Out, Work Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Outdoor enthusiast, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This will be perfect for mountain biking, spring skiing, and backpacking this summer. The raglan sleeves work great for pack straps (non-chafing). Not too short in torso like hind, ex officio, etc. Super light and breathable and nice colors.
By dmonster from Ely, NV on 11/27/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Soft, Warm and dry during winte Cons: Shorter than it looks Best Uses: Casual, Exercise Describe Yourself: Practical Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this shirt to help keep me warm and dry. For work I often start out hiking in the cold morning and then shed layers as it warms up. This shirt work great because it kept me warm and dry.
By Trekker from San Diego, CA on 09/19/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Soft Best Uses: Backpacking, Casual, Exercise Describe Yourself: Practical, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: a very cute top that is thicker and warmer than an average tshirt. Probably not the best choice for hot weather pursuits, but it does wick sweat well and keep the body dry. Perfect for mild to cooler weather, though I'd recommend getting the long-sleeve version for cooler temps. Overall it is very soft and a nicely constructed top.
