Good for photography; expect to layer By JMG from Berkeley, CA on 01/21/2009 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking/Running Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I put these gloves to the test in DC for Obama's inauguration, and they did what needed be done. My hands stayed warm enough to shoot pictures pre-dawn to dusk in temperatures below freezing. Be aware that these gloves are not waterproof or windproof, however. I bought mine a size larger than I normally wear so that I could layer them over my favorite fingerless hand warmers.
