Various materials for various colors By ND Hiker from Dickinson, ND on 12/28/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Inexpensive, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Snug Fit, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love my wickers base layers, but there is a definite difference between the colors. Some styles have a smooth feel and stretch easily, while some have a cottony feel with no stretch. They are great for wearing under fleece pants and an outer shell in extreme cold (e.g. -10 with 20+mph winds). While vigorously hiking, they will be too warm for the average person if it's above 10-15 F.
By Merbert from San Francisco Bay Area on 12/27/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Great winter pajamas, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: For the price, you can't get warmer and wick as well as these. They don't overheat but retain just the amount of heat. Sizing is way too large and they tend to bunch up. I only deducted one star for ill fit.
warm but not so great fit By mountain climber from Nederland, CO on 12/21/2007 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Stay warm and dry with these but the fit is too baggy from waist to thigh and too long.
By the navy guy from Alexandria VA on 12/16/2007 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Really increases comfort level during extended periods outdoors in these winter months.
By Muggs from Indiana on 12/13/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Moisture Wicking, Warm Cons: Poor Fit, These are soooo long Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love the fabric. I have ordered these in tall for my 6'4" son and regular for my 6'2" husband. They were both way too long. (I'll have to hem them.)
By Sooners and Sioux from Grand Forks, ND on 12/12/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Moisture Wicking, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great lounging layer or for really cold weather. XL is not skin tight and provides plenty of room for movement (plenty of stretch). Works under snow pants, but it bunches up inside of my kayak drysuit because of the looseness in the thighs. Ideal setup is a skin tight baselayer with these on top for cold weather (10F and colder).
Not heavy enough to be expedition wt By exclimber from Asheville, NC on 12/10/2007 Cons: Not, not expedition warm Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Fabric isn't heavy enough to be called expedition weight. Good medium weight.
Warmest I have ever owned!!! By jigsaw from Nephi, UTAH on 12/07/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow Sports, Winter outdoor work Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I work outside year round and the work dosen't stop for the weather. When I wear these it dosen't seem quite so bad. I have tried tons of different styles and brands and these are the best.
