The Java color isn't really brown as you would expect--more like a very dark plum. It's OK but would prefer black.
Nice, but a little stiff. By Elizabeth from Bay Area, California on 11/06/2008 Pros: Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love icebreaker products (tops, sweaters) This jacket looked like a good bet. Unfortunately, it is a little stiff. It has a polyurethane lining that makes it wind resistant, but the fall of the fabric suffers for it. It's midweight jacket so can be used in many seasons, but is definitely not a winter coat--it is on the thin side. I a regular size 4 and the 4 fits my shoulders, but it is pretty roomy in the torso--I am 5'2" and 110lbs. The outside texture has a sort of fine knit look to it. Though it has the fine knit texture of a sweater, it came somewhat wrinkled. I believe due to the polyurethane lining? Also, I have only tried it on, so don't know how well it will breathe.
