Nice idea but poor execution By PHA from Amherst, MA on 10/24/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Weight, Stylish, Warm Cons: Poor Craftsmanship, Poor Fit, Restricts Movement Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I am normally a pretty solid medium, thin and 5'6". The sleeves (which normally tend to be too short, if anything, for me) were too long, the jacket fit too snugly across my midsection (a sweater underneath would be too much) but bulged out in strange angles around the shoulders. The zipper was nearly nonfunctional and I could only budge it with lots of effort. I own 5 Icebreaker shirts (long sleeve, t-shirts, tank, all size M) and love them, so I was surprised and disappointed by both the fit and the quality of this item. The weight of the jacket seemed good and the styling would have been OK if the fit had been better (although the stand-up collar seemed a bit scratchy). I returned it immediately.
By Frieda from Minneapolis, MN on 10/17/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Weight, Stylish, Warm Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is very stylish, well-made (love the lining and quality workmanship!), warm and water resistant. The sleeves are perfect for me (I'm tall with long arms). The trim fit is very flattering and is a great accompaniment to jeans or dress pants. I'm using this jacket constantly now that fall has hit MN!
By Betsy from Seattle, WA on 09/13/2009 Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered this in two sizes, to be sure I'd get the right one. Despite this, both sizes were a bit narrow and long waisted for me. The biggest problem, though, was that the zipper (on both) was almost impossible to operate, it just wouldn't move up. Have to return both jackets.
By Corgi3483 from Washington State on 08/31/2009 Pros: Good Weight, Stylish, Warm Describe Yourself: Conditioning Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: i am 5'2" about 120 lb. size small fits me pretty well. sleeves a little long so having those taken in. jacket is tapered and fitted. jacket itself is light weight, high quality wool with liner. perfect for spring or fall evenings. jacket versatile enough for casual or more upscale outing.
By Coldfoot exerciser from Alaska on 06/25/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Stylish, Warm Cons: Snug in the bust line Best Uses: Casual Wear, Sports, Wet Weather, Windy Weather Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket, as other reviewers remarked, is snug through the bust, but I can get it zipped. It is one of the most well-crafted jackets or coats I own... I was impressed by the craftsmanship. The added lining makes it windproof too.
By Laura from Minnesota on 06/11/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Stylish, Warm Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I had to order a size larger than normal and I exchanged my first one for another because the coating on the zipper was peeling off. I really love this jacket despite this issue. It is perfect three season jacket in MN.
Quality Icebreaker product By Bretter69 from Vancouver, BC Canada on 06/11/2009 Pros: Good Weight, Stylish, Warm Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: If you are very petit (5'2" and around 115lbs) make sure to order XS. I am often a size Small due to shoulder width, but this jacket has room in the shoulder.
This is a GREAT jacket!!! By Kelli the traveler from Sacramento, CA on 05/11/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Sports Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love this jacket. It has many uses and you won't have to look for reasons to wear it. Good windstopper for casual use. Breathable for non-conditioning activity. Great quality -- typical Icebreaker smart design. I don't regret a penny spent on this jacket
By schcarrie from Prescott, Az on 04/06/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Stylish, Warm Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Windstop and wool is a winning combination. For the times that your down jacket (that you love) just won't cut the fashion scene. This jacket is cuter in person. I saw it in a store and immediately went online to find it on sale...here. Regarding sizing: I am usually a solid Medium who occasionally where's a Small. I tried on both in the stores. The Medium had a weird bulbous thing happening in the chest area for me. The small fits sleaker (I went with the small). The material has some stretch in it, so it is forgiving.
Too shaped for an athletic wind stopper By First time buyer from Vancouver, BC on 03/15/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Stylish, Warm Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I thought this would be a wind stopper for sports and hiking but it is more fitted and shaped than expected and doesn't really allow much arm movement. Fits a little snug in the shoulders for me.
