By snowshoe happy from neihart, mt on 08/17/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking Best Uses: Cold Weather, Layering, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: You can't beat silk as a base layer. What remains to be seen is if this shirt lasts. Silk underwear often looks and feels great but gets runs and scraggly seams quickly.
By STE from Albany, NY on 08/13/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Snug Fit Cons: Ages quickly, Thin fabric Best Uses: Cold Weather, Layering, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear these as my base layer under a merino wool or synthetic (powerdry or powerstretch) mid layer whe I ski (alpine or XC). For me, even the good merino tops (Ibex, Smartwool, Icebreaker) itch, but not if I wear a silk base.
These shirts are very thin/see through and they don't stand up to machine washing for very long (even on delicate cycle).
I wear them as a base layer, so it doesn't really matter how they look, and the price is very reasonable.

These will work nicely without adding bulk to other items of clothing.
