By Melinda from Tucson, AZ on 10/02/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm, Windproof Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cycling, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is a truly amazing windblock. Incredibly lightweight and soft-- you'd never think it could keep the wind out so effectively! I bought the orange, which is perhaps a little brighter than the image appeared on my screen and runs slightly toward the red end of orange rather than the yellow end. It's a decently visible color for cycling, but is certainly not the high-vis safety orange.
About fit: This is, as others have noted, a close-fitting item. I'm 5'4", 125 lbs with about a 37" chest. I bought the medium and it fits well and is flattering, but it would be a little tight with anything heavier than a wool shirt underneath. That being said, this jacket could also go under a fleece, I think, as a windblock layer. It's brushed on the inside, so it's soft against your skin. Sleeves run a little long, which is nice on a bike, and the cuffs are pretty tight, so don't plan to be able to push up the sleeves.
When I'm riding, I do work up a bit of a sweat inside the jacket, but it doesn't seem to get especially clammy or cold and it dries right out again afterward.
And yes, it has only one pocket, which is really just for an mp3 player. Another might be nice, but would add bulk to what is really a minimalist, highly technical piece of gear.

But it's close-fitting so it's not necessary.

By diart from Des Moines, IA on 04/29/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Immediately after receiving this jacket I had plenty of rainy days to use it. Now it is the first jacket I grab on cool sunny days as well. It's great for morning walks and trips to the grocery store. The weight and breathability along with water resistance is a great combo. I like that the hood doesn't tuck into a collar because those are usually bulky and ugly. The hood stays on well in the wind without ties - just zip up all the way. I've had several comments on the great look and color. The only drawback is no pocket - a small inside pocket for keys and ID would be very helpful. Still a fantastic value at the sale price.
By Gym Runner from Boston, MA on 04/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is sized so that you can fit another layer under it. The sleeves are long so that you can use the thumb holes. And I like it also because it has a hood. It's perfect for hiking, and would look nice around town as well.
By pcs from Ellensburg, WA on 04/19/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Windproof Cons: Irritating sleeve cuffs Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Oh, how I want to love this jacket... It comes so close to being just right, and I have been on an epic search for the right windproof jacket. I just can't deal with these sleeve cuffs. I have quite long arms for my height/size, so for me to be saying that the sleeves are too long is a pretty surprising thing. The cuffs keep going and going beyond where the sleeve should end. They get really narrow (too narrow to fold them over comfortably, even on my ridiculously skinny wrists), and have a thumb hole that would be handy if it was located anywhere near my thumb. Positives: other than the sleeves, I really like the cut. I got the orange, and was very happy with the color too; it does look a little more orange in person, and is a nice, cheerful color - perfect for spring, which is the windy season around here. I'm confused, and even a little envious, that this jacket seems to work for so many other people. Alas, the search continues.

I wear it every morning on my walk. It is lightweight, durable and pretty warm. I also like the thumbhole things and the little pocket in the back. I've never been disappointed in Mountain Hardwear and this is an outstanding product.
