I am getting older and the hippie dippie weather-worn shorts don't foot the bill. These shorts are neat looking, w/a clean line and respectable enough for everyday use in town, out in nature and at home. If you have issues w/gaps at the back in waist, don't get these, they are made for an athletic, boyish straight figure w/a more generous waist - order true size.

I love them - first quick-drying pair of pants/shorts that I've been able to say that about. They are also just what I was always looking for back when I was a rock-climber. The fabric is tough but feels good. The adjustable waist is very useful for me. The variety of pockets is also useful, found myself using the lower zip pockets a lot.
The only con I found was that the grommet on the back for the chalk bag loop chafes when I wear these with my daypack. This wasn't an issue with my larger pack that has a better waist belt.

I have a waist that is smaller than my hips but these shorts only taper to the waist in the front. Too much material in the back of the waist. The internal adjustable elastic waist remedies this but you can definitely tell that there is elastic in there because it's all ruffly when pulled in by the elastic. The rise is good: not too low cut, just below my natural waist.
