The sleeves are long enough (often manufacturers seem to skimp on sleeves) and the shoulders fit well. Slightly longer length(top of hip) and a little narrowness at the waist give the jacket a nice feminine shape. Great for work and weekends.
There is a tiny flaw in the fabric on one sleeve (these are seconds), but it's barely noticeable.

All the department stores carried shorty, teen-cut jackets, not your original jean jacket. And the material was thin and cheap. I went with Carhart because I was familiar with the quality of their jackets, coveralls, etc., so I knew I'd be satisfied with this jacket. And I was.

I wear a 2/4, got a small, & it fits nicely even with a polartec vest or sweater. No problems with sleeve length. Love the fabric, it has nice striations of light & dark denim. Very soft! The tag said the color may come off on light fabrics but after the first washing never had a problem. Nothing bad about it. Can't tell it's 2nds.
