By Northern Girl from N MN on 08/11/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Traction, Great Fit, Lightweight Best Uses: Boating, Casual Wear, Sailing, Wading Describe Yourself: Recreational User Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My husband wore these on a recent 7 days sailing trip and had no complaints. He only said he had other shoes he'd pick for longer walks or hiking. They were perfect for the deck and on and off the dinghy in shallow water.
Patagucci: form and function By Float on the Fly from Ozarks, USA on 07/10/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy On and Off, Great Fit, Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: Boating, Canoeing, Casual Wear, Wading, Walking/Hiking Describe Yourself: Recreational User Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: So far, pata"gucci" has lived up to it's reputation of functional products that also look sharp. I was immediately amazed at how light these shoes are... then I was immediately concerned about durability... usually the two have an inverse relationship... we'll see.
They are comfortable for sure... I wear them without socks most of the time, so I'm a little concerned about the inevitability of bad odor. In the past I have just tossed shoes in the wash, but I'm concerned the glues in these shoes might not fare well in detergent... again, we'll see.
By Elvis Trailsley, AT 4000-Miler from Stormville, NY on 06/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Fit, Lightweight Cons: Difficult On and Off, Poor Traction Best Uses: Canoeing, Casual Wear, Walking/Hiking Describe Yourself: Advanced User Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: So far, so good. I just brought these shoes as my ONLY footwear on a 10-day trip to Belize/Guatemala, and they performed well. My original intent for these shoes were for river running--we are avid canoeists--but I have not used them extensively for canoeing yet.
I like the looks and the fit, and they seem high quality. The back of the shoes squish down when I put them on, and this is a bit of a nuisance, and they are touted as "non scruffing" or something like that, but it would seem to me this would reduce all-important TRACTION. We rented a canoe on the Belize River, and I walked in the water, but when I walked along the rocky shore the shoes did not grip as well as I would have liked. Actually, they seemed not to grip AT ALL!!!

Their traction on wet decks is outstanding and the wide soft sole prevides superior stability. They are very light on the feet but provide excellent support.

I wanted them to fit better, but the size ran small and my toes were cramped. I gave them to a friend who loves them.

By Richie in St. Pete from Florida on 05/20/2009 Describe Yourself: Advanced User Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These are the furthest thing from amphibious shoes! They are basic (lower quality) running shoes. They get soggy and heavy like normal running shoes would after a trip to the water (Florida flats in my case). Get a pair of Keen's if you want a true amphibious shoe. These are purely for fashion not technical or basic usage.
By Canoecoach from Upstate New York on 05/19/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Traction, Great Fit, Lightweight Best Uses: Boating, Rafting, Wading Describe Yourself: Recreational User Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was looking for a pair of water shoes that were comfortable, especially when wet. And, once wet, these shoes were not sodden and drippy the way regular sneakers are.
