Great for those state park trails By Mike from Buffalo, NY on 03/05/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Patagoina quality, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've had these for about a week and think they're the bees knees. I had my eye on them for a while but the 50% sale made me pull the trigger. I've been wearing them as an every-day, casual shoe so far and in my opinion they would fair very well on light and moderate terrain and weather conditions. For back country hikes involving more harsh terrain such as steep, off-trail inclines or slick/wet terrain I would want a more suited outer sole than what this shoe has. Though they're comfortable enough they wouldn't be my first choice for a trail jog- the soles aren't as cushioned as other shoes specifically designed for trail runs.
Plus it's Patagonia so it's safe to assume it's of good quality. And it's made with recycled materials which allows you to mention that fact in conversation with other people who don't care but gives you that nice feeling of smug righteousness and self-satisfaction that I know you like.

By Big A from Northern, CO on 02/25/2009 Pros: Durable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased my usual size and the length was great, but the shoe is a little narrower than I'm used to. Maybe the 1/2 size increase would have given me the width I was hoping for. Sole is very stiff at first, but will break in like any good hiking boot.
