By Bigmanaaron from Goroka, Papua New Guinea on 02/05/2009 Pros: Durable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I plan to use this in the "bush" of Papua New Guinea. Trying to 'break in' this shoe is taking some time - which is a good thing - shows the quailty. I have heard many things about products from this company are high quailty and this certainly is. The shoe is a bit tight in the toes area, but that shows how sturdy they are. The traction will be put to the test as well as the whole shoe. PNG life is hard on clothes hopefully I will be prepared with good shoes
By The Walking Man from Charlotte, NC on 02/03/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This shoe has a fairly rigid sole plate, rare in most light hikers or approach shoes. If you're like me, the soft sole, trail runner type shoes just don't get it on long hikes. I can walk all day blister and fatigue free in this shoe.

By Dog walking fool from Chicago, IL on 01/30/2009 Pros: Durable, Great Traction Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Heel kept popping out and had to return, seems like the heel was too high in the shoe fo my feet. Great looking shoe though and loved the sole. May be my feet are strange but if your feet fit they are a great shoe I would think.
By nosivad_bor from Pittsburgh, PA on 01/21/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Just picked these up. I love the look and fit. I can see they are not going to be up to the task of my 5ten approach shoes so I will use these for casual and light hiking in the rocks.
By Simple Man from Tullahoma TN on 01/21/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I cannot rate this product for durability; I have only had them a few weeks. I do expect the shoes will live up to expectations. They are fairly stiff initially, but will break-in quickly.
My best purchase this year! By Nate on Ice from McMurdo Station, Antarctica on 01/21/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have somewhat narrow feet - these fit similar to european brands - very nicely. Excellent product. These are great, fit great, very comfortable, yet very sturdy.
Feet are as snug as a bug in a rug. By Croaker from Pass Christian, MS on 01/07/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Not recommended for running. Love to take day hikes along nearby trails, but since we don't have ANY mountains within a few hours, I have not been able to try them out on rocky trails (esp. wet rocky terrain). Overall rating--9/10

By bozlogjam from San Francisco on 12/22/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I would say that these shoes are really designed for hiking and scrambling. Day hikes is what I use them for, but would work as approach shoes too, particularly if the approach is long. I could also see them as being great for trekking in places like the Himalayas. Really.ps. a note on-line suggested getting a half size larger than you normally wear. I did this and ended up having to return them and get my normal size (which turned out to be the right size). I think that the note is wrong.Kudos to Sierra Trading Post [...]. Great to deal with.
