Here are the great features:
1. Light weight

The only negative part is the toe box is not wide enough. Patagonia needs to make shoes in wide width.

Great, with some drawbacks By Zobot from Lawrence, KS on 02/03/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good-looking, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use my Patagonia Thatchers mostly to walk the hilly areas of Lawrence, KS, and having used them on ice, I must say the traction is awesome. They look great with jeans, super lightweight, comfy, and quite stable. The mesh allows for lots of breathing.
Drawback: the shoelaces suck--always come undone.
