Good item but get it on sale. By Tater Dogust from Michigan. on 09/13/2009 Best Uses: Smaller Pets, Travel, Younger Pets Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Overall, It carried everything I needed for my dog, but I think the pockets should come of so that you can use the harness part alone for hiking or long walks. The handle at the top of the backpack that allows you pick up the dog is good because it make your dog a lot easier to manage if you are out hiking.
By Cheez from Denver, CO on 09/12/2009 Pros: Good Fit, Good Value, Tough Describe Yourself: New Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This pack was a lifesaver when we did the Four Passes Loop in the Maroon Bells. Our red heeler packed her own stuff! The pack fit her great and it didn't shift like the larger one that our border collie was wearing. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because I thought that the bags could use some bungees to shrink them down so they're not so bulky. I could always hear the dogs rounding trees and rocks. Otherwise, great product and would definitely recommend it!!! Images shared by: Cheez
I would buy this product again By Monkey from Upland, CA on 08/21/2009 Best Uses: Larger Pets, Smaller Pets, Travel, Younger Pets Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am using this product to provide "work" for my most energetic dog. We put some items for weight in each pouch. He loves it. It is easy to put on, and the padded belts do not chafe his skin.
Outstanding Product Ruffwear is a Winner By Ruthie's Mom from Thousand Oaks Ca on 08/02/2009 Pros: Fun, Good Value, Tough Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Ruthie is a 30 lb Mini Labradoodle and the small fit perfect. I would double check your sizing as this seems to run a bit big.
decent pack for the price By runningwithdogs from texas on 07/09/2009 Pros: Fun, Good Value, Tough, Versatile Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This pack is better than most on the market, but not as solid, verstile, or comfortable as the newer version. This older version of the Ruff Wear approach pack shows how wonderful the latest changes are. This pack has the five point harness that sets Ruff Wear packs apart and ahead of the pack, but the materials aren't as comfortable, adjustable or breathable. The material is a little shiny for my taste. I'm happy with this pack for my small 30 lb dog, but wouldn't use it on my big boy (100 pounds) who carries weight over long distances.
By Jack Lover from Cincinnati, OH on 07/08/2009 Pros: Good Value, Tough, Versatile Best Uses: Larger Pets, Smaller Pets, Younger Pets Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Have 3 Jack Russells with LOTS of energy and they love wearing the packs and it helps them get the exercise they need. They wear them on hikes in the woods or hikes in the neighborhood. They are easy to put on and they seem to be comfortable for the dogs. I have heard others complain about the cheaper ones but these are well padded and if you get the correct size I can't see you having any trouble. They are also well made. I have a couple boys that play rough and get into the dirt and they are still in great shape and have held up well.
By Crazy Dog Lady from Colorado Springs, CO on 06/03/2009 Pros: Good Value, Tough, Versatile Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great pack, Y-chest strap helps keep pack centered on narrower built dogs. Pack runs large, I use a SMALL on my 55-60 lb Brittany and it fits well. Have to be carefull when positioning the back strap with male dogs (I removed the fleece cover and it works fine, no dribbles!)
By Splash the Energetic Labradoodle from Kenosha, WI on 04/11/2009 Describe Yourself: Long-time Pet Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It's tempting to look towards this pack. I actually ordered this and the Ollydog pack at the same time. I sent back the Ollydog and kept this one. After a month or so of hiking around, the stitching began to come undone. The pack itself is durable, but if you can't keep it together it doesn't hold so much. I'm waiting for Ruff Wear to replace the item.

This is perfect.
