Terrific next-to-skin sweater By chipmunk from Denver CO on 11/01/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Cut, Well Made Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: As advertised, it's not itchy. Feels silky & warm. It's not bulky so you can wear it comfortably under a jacket or other layers. I ordered the raspberry color; it's a good deep shade, not eye poppingly bright. I really liked the thumbloops. I use them not only to keep hands warm, but as an aid to getting sleeves into jackets without bunching up.
By coldfoot exerciser from Alaska on 09/03/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Well Made Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love the idea of a hood so much this is the second one I purchased! It will be wonderful to wear on really cold winter days under a hat to give my neck and cheeks extra protection from the cold.
(I don't like wearing balaclavas and I hope this will work as well as one.)
By Ruland from Nashville, TN on 08/31/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Well Made Best Uses: Outdoor Activities, Travel Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great icebreaker piece. I got a M based on other comments, but am wishing I had a small (none left in the color I want) as it is a touch big all around. It is warm, lightweight, 'packs small' for travel, and will be used over and over.
By climb, run, travel from San Diego on 08/31/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Versatile, Warm, Well Made Best Uses: Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is probably icebreaker's most versatile piece. Incredibly warm for the weight, the hood is perfect for wearing either on its own or it layers well with a balaclava and climbing helmet if needed. I've used this high altitude moutaineering, climbing long alpine routes, skiing, and hanging around town. It does it all, is warm and not itchy, fits perfectly. I love all icebreaker stuff, but this is their best item.
By Outdoor woman from New Hampshire on 07/08/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this expecting not to use it until the fall. Unfortunately, New Hampshire isn't having summer this year so I wore it all week as soon as it arrived, including on July 4th! This is nicer looking, lighter weight and less bulky than a sweatshirt. It has the warmth and durability of wool. I liked the larger fit so it could be used like a sweatshirt as an overlayer. Also liked the thumbloops and high zip on the hood. I expect to use this for everything from casual wear to biking and skiing.

Finally bought it and it just came in the mail. It is really nice quality. I'll be wearing this for spring running, for backpacking trips, around town, skiing (the hood can go under my helmet)... it is that versatile.
By Baa Baa from Oregon on 02/09/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love icebreaker clothing and Sierra's deals are rarely beat. I love the hood and color of this shirt, but prefer a slimmer fit. This particular shirt has a loose cut to fit over layers. I wish they had XS so I could buy a sizer smaller but sadly they don't.
By poodlegal from coastal California on 02/08/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is alot nicer than I expected! Very soft and lightweight hoody style that layers well, and looks cute with the hood up or down.Very high quality - about the nicest and most versatile wool sweater I have.
By Wool Lover from Somerville, MA on 02/02/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Versatile, Warm, Well Made Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use the hood far more often than I had anticipated. I've been using it under a wool hat on bitterly cold XC rides and cold day bicycle commuting. My only complaint is that the torso could be about an inch longer (I'm 5'11") for me. In general, a great product. Also, note that this is definitely not skin-tight Icebreaker. I occasionally wear it on it's own, but it's best with a tank or cami underneath.
