By Princess and the pea from Greencastle IN on 06/10/2009 Pros: Easy To Carry, Good Capacity, High Quality, Urban looking backpack Cons: Leather somewhat stiff, Straps bar content acces Best Uses: Hands-free daily use Describe Yourself: Classic, Modern, Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm a one-bag person and backpack fan. Zipper broke on old backpack purse so need new one. Like this one's non-backwoods look. Tan should age with character. But...designer was trying too hard at originality in having the straps cross over the main opening making access to contents difficult. What was he/she thinking? Obviously, style before function. I can push the straps to the side to reach into the bag, but most would find this oddity a nuisance and return the bag. Roomy interior; zippered outside pocket for quick access to wallet, keys and cell phone. I'd recommend it to a friend but warn her about the straps.

By Lindy from Cheyenne on 02/02/2009 Pros: Easy To Access Items, Easy To Carry, Good Capacity, High Quality Best Uses: Long Vacations, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Career, Classic, Comfort-Oriented, Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this purse specifically for European travel. It has a large and secure inner cargo area large enough for a travel book, a bottle of water, and my other necessities. There is also an easily accessed smaller outer pocket with a zipper closure.
By B from New York, NY on 12/08/2008 Pros: Easy To Carry, Good Capacity, High Quality Describe Yourself: Career, Classic, Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The bag is as pictured and as described. It seems well made and is attractive (but very simple). It can be a bit hard to access larger items but I don't find it a big problem.
High quality, or just high dollars? By Cindy from San Antonio from San Antonio, TX on 12/01/2008 Describe Yourself: Career, Comfort-Oriented, Stylish Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Stylish bag. Small and lightweight. It is not lined nor are there extra compartments other than a liner with pockets in the front zipper pocket.
I just would have expected more from a bag that is supposedly over $200 regular retail price.
I may be sending this back.
By World Traveller from San Clemente, CA on 11/26/2008 Pros: Easy To Access Items, Easy To Carry, Easy To Identify, Good Capacity, High Quality Best Uses: Long Vacations, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Career, Classic, Comfort-Oriented, Modern, Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is my third Ellington purse and I love this brand! The quality is excellent and the bag has casual yet elegant style to it.
I love backpack purses (keeps my hands free) but I don't like looking like I just stepped off the John Muir Trail. This backpack purse doesn't give the feeling of a gortex wearing, dehydrated food eating type of person.
It also feels pretty secure. When wearing on my back, it would be difficult for someone to try and steal something from the main compartment. (Though anything in the zippered pocket would be fair game.)
It was surprisingly light (for being an all leather purse) and I think it will age well. Great price!!!!
