By Will from Louisville, KY on 10/21/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational, Eagle Scout Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wonderful boot. I've gone through my fair share of hiking boots and after trying these on in my local store I knew these were the next ones for me. Very roomy toe box, and excellent support for my ankle. Many people say they don't think there is enough support, however I typically hike in low-cut boots so these were fantastic. Gore-Tex is a must for me, and once again it hasn't disappointed. I was concerned about the plastic lace clips at first too, but they have held up through all I've put it through so I am no longer worried. Shoe is overall very light, and somehow they manage to make my foot look small (I wear a 14), yet there is a ridiculous amount of room inside the shoe without my foot sliding around everywhere. So far I've put about 270 miles on them and they are my favorite boots I have.
No break-in time and very comfy By Sandy from New York City on 06/22/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Light Loads, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Just got these so can't really make any comments as to long-term performance, but they are very comfortable with virtually no break-in time. Ankle and arch support seem less than most hiking boots -- these feel almost more like high sneakers -- therefore they are best suited to day hikes and shorter distances on easy to moderate terrain rather than serious backpacking or difficult terrain. For my needs -- mostly day hikes and birdwatching -- they should be just fine.
Mens fits this girl perfectly By The reluctant hiker from North Bend, WA on 05/31/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Cons: First felt like ski boots, Heavy Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Let me first say that the only footwear I own that lace are my hiking boots and a pair of high top sneakers (mens). My feet are NOT happy in confined spaces and whenever possible I am barefoot. I finally gave in to letting my husband purchase hiking boots for me online after my protests of, "I'm not going to want to buy hiking boots, of all things, without trying them on!!" He'd been complaining about my 15+ year old boots, that were perfectly formed to my foot, weren't the latest technology. I asked him to make it a mens boot for a roomier fit. Out of the box they fit great. At first they felt ex-tremely bulky, like I'm hiking in ski boots, but I expect this will change as I get used to them. I am very happy with my new boots! No doubt my boots will be seeing mountain tops and crossing many creeks!

By snowdogz from Huntington Woods, MI on 05/21/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Great Traction Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: After reading the reviews, I decided to give this Lowa boot a try. They've always seemed to have a well deserved great reputation. The Lowa Kody is no exception. When I first put the boot on, I was a little concerned about having the correct size because of a few hot spots, and that they seemed a little tight. Within an hour or so of wearing them around home, my concerns disappeared. They feel great on my feet and after wearing them for a few very long days now, I find I'm really liking these boots. They seem to be made with quality materials and are well crafted. I am very pleased. Get 'em before they're gone, if they have your size. Better yet buy two pairs; I wish I did. [...]

By Pinetar from East Texas (behind the Pine curtain) on 05/13/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was reading a SWAT magazine and one of the authors mentioned that he used these boots because they were waterproof and suitable to everyday use, from range to the airport, so I thought that I would give them a try. These boots live up to their billing. Fit great, feel great and I have yet to get wet wearing them. I wear them to school, play soccer and speedball with my students with them and even wear them to Mass. They are a go everywhere, do anything pair of boots. Looking for a 2nd pair to pack in my car, just in case.
By slikrik from Raleigh, NC on 05/05/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Describe Yourself: Contractor Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm a contractor and prefer hiking boots to work boots. These take a little longer to lace up but if you don't need full ankle support you can only lace two hooks instead of three w/o sacrificing much.
