By Happy Hiker from Milledgeville, GA on 02/27/2009 Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I wanted a lower price, but once again, this just goes to say that you get what you pay for. I needed a pair of replacements for my old hiking boots, and while these may be great for around town in winter and on sloppy rainy days, I would not recommend them for longer hikes as far as I can tell. I put them on and walked around the house and immediately I felt friction on the top of my foot where the boot bends as you walk. There is no padding there, and so it felt like they were made cheaply.
By Wags from Lancaster, PA on 02/25/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered a half size larger than I normally wear and was glad I did. I have a wide foot and find the toe box to be adequately roomy. The padding is firm, I may have to add some inserts. I haven't hiked in these yet but thus far, I have found them comfortable and light.
Asked where I got them on Mountain By Terrie The Sitter from Phoenix, AZ on 02/24/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm still in the process of breaking them in, but they don't feel overly heavy and the size was dead on to what I wear.
By tnt from Switzerland on 02/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I generally wear size 7-7.5 and bought 8 just in case (wasn't going to return!) - figured thick socks would work. Am happy and I think these are going to be quite comfy. The 7.5 probably would have been a perfect fit, but for my first 3hr walk, no complaints. First time, no wearing in.
By hounddog walker from northern PA on 02/19/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots were warm, comfortable, and dry on my very first outing, which was through snow, water, mud, and slush. No wet feet and no blisters! I'll wear them year-round, so will see how they do during warmer weather, if it EVER gets here!
Great boots for a great price By Outdoor gal from Deming WA on 02/17/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use these boots for daily walking on rough terrain and wooded trails, outdoor chores such as winter gardening, raking gravel, burning brush, etc. Not great in heavy soil because the traction soles pick up too much mud. They are comfortable, warm and best of all --DRY!
