The only thing I don't much like about this is I thought they were a darker color, they are white where it looks like tan on the page. I bought them to wear to work and they are very comfortable.

Usually love New Balance, but these have no arch support and they look like bowling shoes. I had to add arch support insoles. Good tread, though.

NB has quit making the 1100 series for women. Too bad because it was a perfect fit for my foot. This shoe is OK.

I walk on the road and this shoe really cushions my feet. They are the only shoes of this type that have adequate width. They feel comfortable the first time you wear them.

Like NB, but these didn't fit
By Mom of three. from Iowa on 08/17/2009
Describe Yourself:
Casual Adventurer
Sizing:
Feels half size too small
Width:
Feels too narrow
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I usually wear New Balance walking shoes, and thought these would replace my old ones, but when I put them on they were tight all over and didn't have the "New Balance" quality one would expect. Also, the arch support wasn't as good as other NB products. I have sinced returned these but will try out another pair of shoes from STP.

This is the second pair of this shoe that I've bought and used. They're comfortable and durable. I use them primarily for shorter - 6 mile or less - hikes. And I always buy New Balance brand trail runners for hiking.

By Nashville HikerVerified Reviewer from Nashville, TN on 06/20/2009

Comments:
I ordered a size 8. (My pre-orthotic size was 6 1/2.) The toebox is large enough to accept my orthotics and they fit perfectly. I also love the light gray color. It doesn't show dirt as readily as white. I'm ordering 2 more pairs. At this price, I can't resist!
