By BMW - brawny Montana woman from Superior, MT on 06/08/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable Cons: Not enough arch support Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have been using these shoes for running on a gravel Forest Service road. The cushion under the heel is great and they are very light in weight. My shoe laces stay tied (I hate having to stop and tie my laces!).

By kat the runnner from baltimore, md on 04/15/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: these were one of three pairs of trail runners that i ordered at the same time. these were my least favorite, but i think i could have made them work if i'd gotten a different size. they seemed to be at least a half size too big... maybe a full size. they look really wide and the colors are very manly. otherwise, they were comfortable and felt stable.

Wish I hadn't worn them or I would have sent them back!!
By CD in MT from Bozeman, Montana on 04/06/2009 Cons: Sort of clunky, Stiff Best Uses: Day hikes, Trail running, Walking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these for some trail running I aspire to do, since there is a trailhead about 500 feet from my front door. I've only worn them 2-3 times so I don't quite have the full story on them yet. They are just ok--nothing great. The first time I wore them, the toe box bent/creased in an uncomfortable place along the top of my foot with every step I took, but subsequent wearings seem to have improved this. I ordered a half size larger than ususal, as recommended by other wearers and I would agree that this is a good idea even though it might mean your heel slips around. I just laced them differently, and this seems to have reduced the slipping. All in all, a good, basic trail running shoe for beginning trail runners such as myself.

New Balance comfort, weird design By Happy go lucky from Seattle, wa on 03/19/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I never have to worry about how New Balance is going to fit. These were a nice fit but I failed to notice the weird sole bumps that stick out on the sides of the toe area. I've never seen that on shoes, and now that I look at the picture, they are obvious. I imagine they would lend more stability, although I don't know why you would need it there, but I just couldn't take the look of them. Other than that, they were sized correctly, and I didn't even have to get wides to get a nice fit.
Good all-around trail runner By trailrunnergirl from spokane, wa on 03/18/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good shoe, however, I was dismayed by the lack of overall cushioning. Great traction that provided good solid foundational trail running.
