By Calamity J from Kentucky on 04/08/2009 Pros: Flexible, Lightweight Best Uses: Everyday wear, Walking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I do a minimum of 10,000 steps a day and go through a lot of shoes since I have had to add orthotics. Yes, my other shoes aren't getting any wear. Flat, very narrow feet have led to plantar facititis. This New Balance is good except the heel is still too wide for me. I have not had good luck with New Balance but that is my feet not the shoes. Many friends swear by them. [...]
An instantly comfortable shoe By woolspinner from Indiana on 04/08/2009 Pros: Absorbs Shock, Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Flexible Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like and wear New Balance more than most other running shoes; they fit my idosyncratic feet really well. Consequently, I'm not objective; these were imediately comfortable. Though not the lightest in weight or the most flexible of my collection of running shoes, they feel solid and supportive, but not oppressive. (I have had running shoes that feel claustrophobia-inducing and as clunky as riding boots two sizes too large.) I would recommend them without reservation. And I am a fairly discerning/critical/cynical runner.
By AllisonS from Wisconsin on 04/07/2009 Pros: Absorbs Shock, Attractive Design, Comfortable Best Uses: Pavement, Running Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like the wide toe box on these. They don't seem to untie easily like my other NB shoes. People aren't kidding about ordering a half size up.

Like 'em, but don't love 'em By CD in MT from Bozeman, Montana on 04/06/2009 Pros: Absorbs Shock, Attractive Design, Comfortable, Flexible, Lightweight Cons: Rubbing of pinkie toe Best Uses: Light running, Pavement, Walking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I consider myself to be an active individual, but not an athlete. I've always been a huge fan of walking, having a dog who insists on daily long walks (5+ miles). I've recently become inspired by a friend of mine who is running a marathon at the end of the month and decided "hey, maybe I could be a runner too!". Well, I'm a BEGINNING runner so I bought some BEGINNING running shoes. These shoes are significantly better than the old ratty ones I had, but are probably a bit basic for a more "serious" runner. A decent "starter" shoe, in my opinion.
