Wonderful quality, but short in front! By milfoil from Minnesota Steelheader on 12/22/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Skiing/Snowboarding, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very nice jacket. However, my suspicion is that it resides here at Sierra, simply because of complaints due to it's front body length, or lack there of. It's adequate down the back, but then takes a peculiar "up taper" to the zipper. This results in the front portion of this jacket - You certainly can't call it a parka - residing at belt level on persons with a "normal" length torso. If your upper body is very "squatty", however, then this jacket is for you!!

Then it happened we had some extreme wet weather with cold and i was warm and dry. (it really is waterproof as it says) This item was a gift. At college i walk outdoors 15 min. for some classes and this jacket has so far done what it needed to do.

water-wind resistant, bulky, good price By Tob from PA on 12/08/2008 Pros: Warm, Water-resistant, Windproof Cons: Bulky, Colors are not accurate, Non detachable hood Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Well I bought this coat for hiking in the winter, and for the price who can complain. I have taken this out for a couple of walks in the wind and cold weather (20* to 40*) we have been having seems to be working just fine. It is water resistant with is very nice, I ran it under the faucet and it sheds the water.
The fit seems a little large and bulky. It does not fit as well as my North Face - Summit series jacket. It is adjustable at the bottom so that helps… but still seems very bulky.
Hood does not detach.
Hopefully it will hold up to a couple of years of winter hiking

Good jacket for everyday use By skiing in the northeast from Pittsburgh, PA on 11/23/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm, Windproof Cons: Light insulation, too short Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great jacket if you're looking for a light outer shell that is waterproof and windproof. I live in the northeast and would not take this jacket skiing unless I layered underneath for additional warmth. I am also 6'2" and this jacket is a little shorter than I like. It would probably be a great jacket for someone shorter, but the wind tends to come up underneath the jacket because of this. Otherwise it is a really nice shell at a really good price.
