Fits more like a tent than a jacket By mike from Helena, Montana on 12/31/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The fit of the jacket is my biggest complaint. It was somewhat tight in the shoulders and short in the sleeves but felt like a tent in the body. I think this is how columbia products fit in general because I later tried on other columbia jackets at local stores. their jackets do not seem to be tailored in the body. If you need longer arms and are trim in the waist/stomach, then you might want to consider mountain hardwear; MH is cut a little bigger in the shoulders with longer sleeves and a more tailored body.

Runs a little short but fits well. Have not used it yet. Only con is that it is heavy.
By NORTH CAROLINA BILL from HENDERSONVILLE, NC on 12/24/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, EXCELLENT FREEDOM OF MOVE, FITTED BUT COMFORTABLE, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I just ordered this jacket from Sierra. I had looked long and hard for a jacket that would be warm and waterproof, but not too heavy or restrictive. This jacket filled the bill perfectly. It is not bulky and feels fitted, but offers an amazing freedom of movement. It is warm outside, but you do not get hot quickly when you go inside. Breathability is great. I wore the jacket around the local shopping center for a couple of hours yesterday, but did not get too warm. I HIGHLY recommend this jacket for all but the most extreme conditions, particularly if you are involved in active winter sports.
Fantastic jacket for the price! By Swim Mom from Northeast Florida on 12/23/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this jacket for my son (size S), but it was much larger than I expected, so my husband kept it! For the price, an awesome buy. Softshells are the best for milder winter climates. This one has a detachable hood and is very well made. Other than the size, which seemed huge for a small, this is a great jacket.

Pretty minor though!!!
