Seemed very solid but very narrow By Biz from Newton,NH on 09/29/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels full size too small, Feels too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These seemed like just the boots I was looking for. I needed something solid and durable with good support and traction but when I tried them on I could barely get my hand in them nevermind my foot. I have a small but a wide foot and usually wear a 7.5-8. Thats what I ordered but there's no way it would fit and there were no larger sizes available. Really dissapointed because otherwise they seem like a great boot.
By climbing life from Laramie Wy on 09/15/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Cons: Too Stiff/Not Flexible Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Loved these boots! Took them on a short hike boot 2 miles the first day ever using them and they fit perfect. The next day walked back to Valley Massif and ended missing the beaver dam so we walked through a nice swamp but my feet stayed perfectly dry and comfy. They felt stiff at first but within the 2 days of wearing them for 6 hours they already feel more flexible.

By John from Salt Lake City UT on 08/20/2009 Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I used these on an 11-day backpacking trip in the Brooks Range. This is a pretty strenuous test for a pair of boots: heavy loads, plenty of stream crossings, and extremely rugged terrain. The boots were great: solid support, not too heavy, and kept me fairly dry in water nearly up to the boot-top. Even with less than 50 miles of breakin, there was little rubbing: just one little blister on a pinkie toe that got better on its own. At the [...] price these are a steal.
By Lucy from Indianapolis on 08/17/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Cons: Heavy, Long Break-in Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My husband and I both have this boot. He put his on right out of the box and was good to go. No problems. I, on the other hand, have just the opposite problem. It took many miles before these did not hurt my bunions. Taking them to a shoe cobbler helped stretch out the bunion area. My feet sweat. So I found these boots hot on warm days. My husband's feet don't sweat so he found the boots fine. I guess that is the price you pay for gore-tex.
My husband got the boot in same size shoe he wears. I wear a 9-91/2 shoe and got the boot in a women's size 10. These boots are also good for high volume feet.
The boots are very sturdy. We have about 1000 miles in these boots and they are still going strong. That includes a 500 mile backpacking trip across Spain.
By Little Earl from Keller, Tx on 08/12/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots are to replace my Vasque...that were worn out. My feet are difficult to fit. I ordered on size larger...and a perfect fit. I have had these boots on the Colorado trail. They are outstanding, comfortable yet rugged. Will need to plan more hikes around these boots!

Great Backpacker for Low Volume Feet By Skinny Foot from Rocky Mountains, CO on 07/20/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Fits Low Volume Feet, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was looking for a replacement for my 10.5 Vasque Super Hikers. I have low volume feet with at flat arch. I also suffer from hot spots with most boots due to heal lift. Because of the softer neoprene like cutouts around the ankle in these boots, they articulate perfectly right out of the box with NO heal lift for me. I put in my othotics from my old Vasque and had a perfect fit with no break-in. It is difficult to find a mid-weight supportive backpacking boot anymore that will be solid with up to a 40+ lb pack. I think I should have bought two pairs of the Trango Treks if La Sportiva discontinues them.
narrow, NOT for people w/ high instep By Pete from Albany, NY on 07/14/2009 Cons: Not built for high instep, Very narrow toe box Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too small, Feels too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Does seem well made, but built for a narrow foot. Two stars because it looks well-made, just not for me....
