By Back country Pete from Bigfork, Montana on 06/30/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Cons: Difficult Laces, Too Stiff/Not Flexible Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Its a bit stiff to other hiking boots I've had. I'll use it during elk season so that will surely test its ability to support under "Holy Molly" loads. It has great ankle support. However the lacing system is a bit "iffy" to get a good snug fit. The great support of my ankles is for nill if the rest of my foot is sloshing around.
By Dave from Yakima, WA on 06/22/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Day Hiking, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good boot so far.... will get full trial over the summer

Good boot, too bad they closed it out... By fullcurl.ak from Anchorage AK on 06/11/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Cons: Difficult Laces, Tough to lace comfortably Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational, Hunting Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots need to be fit about a 1/2 larger than normal to give the toes cushion. Although, a very comfortable boot, they need careful attention each time you lace them on. I typically have to adjust the ankle area and tounge after about 5-10 minutes of hiking.
Very water proof and warm, great boot for the Northwest and Alaska, not so sure I would want them for a hot climate.

I have used these for hiking with light to medium weight packs and also climbing steep snow in the Rockies.
My feet stayed warm & dry , with no hot or tight spots. Follow the recommendation & order 1/2 size up from your norm.

Great Boots at a fantastic price!!! By Wilderness hiker from Adirondacks, New York on 05/26/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great boots at an incredible price. These boots fit great out of the box and are comfortable with no break-in period. Only reason for only 4 stars is they aren't quite as beefy as the La Sportiva full leather boots. A great product nevertheless and a wonderful value. I agree with the general rule of ordering a size larger as these boots do run small.
By Minotaur from Western Massachusetts on 05/26/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Water Resistant Cons: Difficult Laces, Not Comfortable Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Environmentalist Sizing: Feels full size too small, Feels too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered these a half size larger than needed and wore them for a few weeks before hitting the trails in upstate NY. The Vibram soles were great for some of the more difficult sections of trail in the High Peaks. The only problem, and a major one at that, is the sizing. These boots are NOT TRUE TO SIZE, and my toes were hurting on the steeper descents of Mount Marcy and Skylight.
