By cdow from Seattle on 03/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Sturdy/Durable Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: watch the sizing with La Sportiva -- even they tell you to use your US size plus 1 to get the right fit. That seems about right to me. Great products, otherwise.

By Evergreen hiker from Colorado on 02/21/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: REI charged [$] for this product. Sierra saved me $55. Boots are a little stiff but provide great support over rocky terrain. Soles are slippery on icy spots but name shoes/boots that aren't.
By Bill, the relieved from NH on 02/16/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: excellent boot, I was looking for a boot to accommodate a bad big toe and this boot has a nice stiff sole that rocks well so walking is smooth. Light for the amount of support one gets, I am confident to hike in winter or summer with these.
By Pinon Pete from Mimbres, NM on 02/15/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots run a little small, but once I got the right size [...]I couldn't have been happier. I hike in very rugged terrain (Gila Wilderness in southern New Mexico) and carry heavy loads through rocky, cactus covered steep slopes off trail, but these Trango Treks by La Sportiva are the best I've used in the last 20 years. I don't usually want Gore-Tex because the stream crossings are deep and the water comes over the tops of boots and then can't seep out. But these are a little taller than most. Hopefully they will last a long time.
