Didn't make it to the trail By Rocky mountain hiker from Denver, CO on 05/12/2009 Pros: Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Cons: Not Comfortable, Squeak Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The basic fit of the boot was great. But the tongue bit into the front of my ankle. Since it hurt walking around the house, they didn't make it to a trail test.
Garmont fits my feet the best! By Hiking Mom from Gardnerville, NV on 04/06/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have another pair of Garmont hiking boots. They are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned, but they are not waterproof (Gortex). I bought these and they fit the same as my other ones! I like that have more room in the ball section of the boot.
By Willow from TN on 03/16/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought an earlier version of these several years ago and they lasted the entire 2000+ miles of the Appalachian Trail. A little heavy, but worth the support and durability.
By Day Hiker girl from Santa Rosa, CA on 03/09/2009 Pros: Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold weather, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought these to wear on my April week long trip to Yosemite. These are my first pair of "real" hiking boots, so I think I was a bit over-sensitive when trying these out. At first they were stiff and irritated my ankles, however, this was when trying to break them in around the house. They are actually much more comfortable on the trail. Bottom line, great-looking and very sturdy boots. Waterproof (I happily splashed around in puddles and my feet remained warm and dry)with very solid ankle support. I would just recommend giving yourself a good amount of time to break them in and expect a bit of discomfort in the process. Awesome deal!
Comfort from the first moment By Wimpy Feet from Boise, ID on 02/15/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have boney, narrow feet with little natural padding, unstable ankles and I have a hard time finding quality hiking boots that feel good. Most hiking boots make my feet and lower legs miserable. These boots felt both comfortable and stable from the first time I wore them! I have to put in custom made inserts, but that was all I needed. I immediately bought another pair in the same size to save for when the first ones finally kick the bucket. I don't ever want to be without them.

By The backcountriest from Madison< WI on 12/16/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've done 4 day backcountry hikes with these boots numerous times. The only time I ever got blisters was because the whole day was spent doing difficult hikes with steep steep hills and I didn't lace them tight enough. Just make sure you wear good socks and lace them enough, and they are a perfect hiking shoe. Lots of stability (for a klutz like me) and comfy.
