Love this coat! (Coat, not jacket) By Carmen from New York, NY on 06/23/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My arms are long in proportion to my size, so the sleeves are about 2" short of perfect, otherwise it would have been a 5-star item. I'm 5' 9" and 150 lbs, and the UK size '12' works perfectly (other than sleeve length). I say it's a coat rather than a jacket because when I sit, I'm sitting on coat. Terrific item for all wet days, or cool to cold days here in New York. Delighted to own it.
Terrific coat-another winner! By Carmen from New York, NY on 06/14/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm 5'9", 150lbs and the M is a good fit. Another 3" in the sleeves would have helped, but turning the cuffs back to nothing works as well. This is more a coat than a jacket, as the length works more like a coat; falls just above the knee. Love it.

By The girl from Galicia from Northern Spain on 03/11/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Versatile, Warm, Well Made Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great for rain. Depending on the accessories, it can be used nicely as either a town coat or a country coat. Check the size carefully. I checked the measurements and ordered an English size 16 fearing that it might be gigantic, but it fit perfectly.
Barbour New Hampshire Jacket By Fulton from Michigan on 02/12/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, NOT for Horseback, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great coat BUT, Barbours are often used for horseback riding. This coat does not have vents and therefore could not be worn (comfortably) on horseback.
great jacket warmer than I thought By green mountain lass from Montpelier,VT on 02/07/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: this is a great Jacket, warmer than I thought. I actually had to take off a layer underneath when I was walking to town (it's february and cold!)the wax/oil on the canvas does have a smell when it warms up and when you warm up. It is not a bad smell, a little like faint car gargage, this is a great coat for the price. I think it will keep me dry too, no rain yet that'll come in a couple months.

Don't judge a coat by its photo By The Shopper from New Jersey on 01/22/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The photo does not do this coat justice. There is not the uneveness of color that is depicted. The coat is a smooth dark olive. It is nicely finished and its thin quilted lining makes it warmer than a tartan lined version. It is a practical length and a little more feminine than most Barbour coats. The sleeves are on the long side which I don't mind but some people may. It really is a great coat for around town and a good buy.
