Thought it would be warmer. By Tarheel from Milwaukee, WI on 09/14/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking Best Uses: Cycling, Layering, Running Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I was looking for something that was high wicking and in the expedition layer category. I thought this might work, but when I pulled it out of the box, I found the material to be far to lightweight. Would be ideally suited for spring, fall or even a cool summer morning, but not winter.
By CycloCam from Spokane on 08/14/2009 Best Uses: Cycling, Layering Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was looking for a skin-tight form-fitting zip neck light weight wool. Normally I wear XL tops, the XL was baggy on me and would be uncomfortable as under a shirt or sweater for normal outdoor wear. I exchanged for a L and the arms seem a little short and still baggy. That will work for layering, but not so great for cycling. Still a great price.
By Wisconsin walker from Madison, WI on 06/08/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, No itching, Snug Fit, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Layering, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I take my dog to a dogpark virtually everyday. Consequently, I need underwear and clothing I can count on for the coldest days in the winter. Terramar merino wool keeps me warm on the coldest days without adding unnecessary bulk and without restricting my movements. I recommend it to friends.
Good breathable shirt with odd mock neck By Razor from Chico, CA on 05/21/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking Best Uses: Layering, Snow Sports, Warm Weather Describe Yourself: Conditioning Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Took this shirt backpacking and I was pleasantly suprised by its breathability even while wearing my backpack. Sweat was not really a problem as when I took my pack off the shirt seemed to dry relatively fast. Only problem is the zipper but if you don't zip it up all the way then it's fine.
By Z the cyclist from Portland, OR on 05/15/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Snug Fit, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Cycling, Gym, Layering, Running, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: An update based on much more usage: This is an absolutely superb piece. I own merino wool products from Patagonia, Icebreaker, and Smartwool, and I think the Terramar Woolskins items are close in quality for far less money. Not quite as stylish, to be sure, but a really good fit, and much nicer and well made than you might expect. The quality and durability has been really impressive. I have worn the mock zip neck nearly every day during the cool weather for the last two years, and it has worked extremely well - wicking well, keeping me comfortable, and protected, with really impressive durability. I do hours of heavy outdoor workouts with this layer throught the winter, and it keeps me feeling comfortable. I can wear this piece for 30 days straight without excessive odor or discomfort. Try that with any synthetic! While I still use some other base layers under certain conditions, I can't imagine going back to synthetics for daily use.
By Rod from Yakima, Wa. on 04/27/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Cycling, Layering, Running, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear a t shirt and a zip neck long sleeve top for hunting. This combination is far superior to any of the synthetic tops. I have been a hunter for 55 years and have done all of the different layering combinations. This is the best.
Disposable backpacking item. By Tom from Knoxville, TN on 04/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Snug Fit, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Cycling, Layering, Running Describe Yourself: Conditioning Exerciser Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Just finished a 6 night, 100+ AT mile hike through Shenandoah NP, with 3 windy, rainy days in 30 - 60 degree temps. I wore this everyday, and used it as a second layer on a few wet, cold nights. The comfort and protection was outstanding. Unfortunately it began to spring holes in the back after the second day, and ripped under the right pit. Understanding a backpacker wardrobe is not GQ material, I estimate this top would only last 4 weeks on a thru-hike. Perhaps backpacking is too vigorous for its durability. It should be fine for other passive activities.
My husband and I LOVE these Woolskins! By Cycling Senior from Santa Rosa, CA on 03/23/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Cycling, Layering Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I can finally stay warm in our cold winter house, with my new Woolskin turtleneck under any other second layer. Soft, warm and comfortable by itself as well. Wish it came in more colors.

Lighter weight then I was hoping for.
