Disposable backpacking item. By Tom from Knoxville, TN on 04/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Snug Fit, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Cycling, Layering, Running Describe Yourself: Conditioning Exerciser Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Just finished a 6 night, 100+ AT mile hike through Shenandoah NP, with 3 windy, rainy days in 30 - 60 degree temps. I wore this everyday, and used it as a second layer on a few wet, cold nights. The comfort and protection was outstanding. Unfortunately it began to spring holes in the back after the second day, and ripped under the right pit. Understanding a backpacker wardrobe is not GQ material, I estimate this top would only last 4 weeks on a thru-hike. Perhaps backpacking is too vigorous for its durability. It should be fine for other passive activities.
My husband and I LOVE these Woolskins! By Cycling Senior from Santa Rosa, CA on 03/23/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Cycling, Layering Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I can finally stay warm in our cold winter house, with my new Woolskin turtleneck under any other second layer. Soft, warm and comfortable by itself as well. Wish it came in more colors.

By rbinhood from Eagle River, WI on 03/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Cycling, Layering, Running, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Conditioning Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this for hunting as a baselayer. I like the fact that it doesn't acquire odor like the synthetics. It also provides warmth, even when wet.
It's a pain to wash, and I would never throw it in the dryer, but worth the extra care required.
By Bill from Boston on 03/02/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Cycling, Layering, Running, Snow Sports Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great base layer for mountain biking, cold weather hiking. Lightweight warmth- works well under Ice Breaker wool mid layer and soft or hard shell depending on temps and precipitation. Washes well regular cycle without odor problem common to so many synthetics. And the price is right vs. branded merino baselayers.

By Rogo from Cedar City, Ut on 02/12/2009 Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Neck too large and doesn't stand up too well, despite the rather stiff zipper. Don't wear next to skin if you are at all sensitive to wool

To survive in the Northwoods requires layering and this garment is the ticket for that crucial base layer eh!
