I wear them for kayaking, hiking & cross country skiing. They are light weight, fit nicely under pants and/or rain gear and are very warm w/o itching.

Bought these as a base layer under jeans for hiking in the cold. They are thin enough to be comfortable and non restrictive but will add that layer for warmth.

Great bottoms
By New England Naturalist from Easthampton, MA on 11/02/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Soft, Warm
Cons:
Too big
Best Uses:
Cold Weather, Everyday Wear, Hiking, Snow Sports
Describe Yourself:
Conditioning Exerciser
Fit:
Feels too big
Bottom Line:

Comments:
I'm 5'4"/130 lbs and was suprised to find the small size a little too big for me. They are, however, very comfortable and soft. Since I wear these around the house (under my clothes), I don't mind them being a bit baggy.

Where I live, it's cold for six months of the year----long underwear is Vermont lingerie! So I was very happy to find these---they're comfortable, look good, and I've already worn them several times---plus I've ordered another pair!

Too itchy!
By Dogwalker from Boston, MA on 10/29/2009
Fit:
Feels true to size
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Was hoping these would be my all-purpose under-pants lining this winter, but they were too itchy. They seem well made and might be good for someone less sensitive.

A big disappointment
By z. from Augusta, ME on 10/22/2009
Pros:
Soft, Warm
Cons:
Poor Craftsmanship
Best Uses:
Cold Weather
Describe Yourself:
Frequent Exerciser
Fit:
Feels too small
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I was hugely disappointed with the overall performance. I had bought the silk kind before and they were great. I thought the wool kind would make me feel even warmer but did not find much difference, just more expensive! The pants were way too small and I am pretty small myself. The crotch came up too high and the waist band felt so tight.
