Perfect for winters in the south! Perfect for downtown or a mountain hike
Haven't taken it off since I bought it By Hatchet from Boulder, CO on 03/27/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use this jacket as an around town jacket. I love it because it is comfortable, warm, light weight, and packs down to a small size. Small features such as Velcro that doesn't stick to everything and easy one handed drawcords are also great. My only complaints are that when temps are in the teens I wish that it had a hood and the hand pockets only have a soft liner on one side.
By TKD mom from Las Vegas, NV on 02/24/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Skiing/Snowboarding Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Awesome jacket for mild winter casual use by itself (in las Vegas, 20s are the coldest we get). Probably not enough for very cold winter weather.
Could be used by itself for spring ski conditions -- for cold it would need a weather protective layer over.
Read Cloudveil sizing chart...it's a little different than most.
Light weight, warm & pleasing shape By Austrian Skier from Los Gatos, CA on 02/23/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Not too hot in the sun, Stylish, Super warm in cold wind, Warm Cons: I added waterproof spray Best Uses: Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I took this jacket to Lake Tahoe for a week of heavy snowstorms followed by sunny warm days - it was great either way. I waterproofed it with a store bought Silicon Spray just to make sure... no wetness, no chills during the snow storms and amazingly, once it got warm it felt just as comfortable by opening the front zipper a bit. I got many compliments for the BLUE color. It is very light and just enough body shape to look female without being uncomfortable. Images shared by: Austrian Skier

By Grasshopper from New England on 01/22/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight Cons: Inadequate Protection Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: It may be 700 down, but there's not enough of it to actually feel like it's 700. Mountain Hardware 650 is toasty where this is drafty.
Favorite jacket for many situations By multi sport mama from Big Sky, MT on 01/21/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Skiing/Snowboarding Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I live in a ski resort, and have used this jacket for many things from walking dogs to skiing, snowshoeing, sleigh rides, outdoor spectating. (I haven't used it in HEAVY snowfall.) So far, it is all that it is advertised to be, has nice touches for comfort and convenience, and also has a nice fit and quilting pattern so you don't look like the Michelin man in it!
By Skiermom from New Jersey on 01/20/2009 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this jacket to layer under a shell on colder days on the mountain. (I teach skiing on the weekends.) I wore it as soon as I took it out of the box! It layers beautifully - not too puffy - and it is just warm enough for all but the coldest of ski days. One warning though: Dark feathers showed through the "maui" blue colored jacket, making it look spotted, which was a bummer as blue was my first color choice. I returned the blue one. Dark feather-show through is not a problem with the chocolate brown color, and I've been happily wearing it ever since I received it!
