The bugs won't be able to get in By sofla from Florida on 05/13/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought these to wear in the Amazon. They feel good but are a bit tight on the leg - will see if I can stretch them out. At least the bugs can't crawl in :-))
Lightweight, tick-repelling hiking socks By JayhawkTribe from Lawrence, KS on 03/31/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Wicks Away Moisture Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Lighter-weight socks good for short hikes (last one was about 4 miles). Managed moisture well, and had no issues with ticks traveling across the socks (there were plenty wandering up the legs of my hiking pants). Good warm weather hiking sock.
Haven't tried in Bug Country yet.. By Recon from Grafton Wis on 03/19/2009 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Haven't had a chance to try this product yet... bought three pair, going to give one pair to a friend when we turkey hunt in April & May in Wisconsin. Depending on the bug hatch, these should at least offer some protection. Like the blend of different fabrics and of course the super price [...] from Sierra Trading Post.
By birder from Wilmette, IL on 03/07/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Had to give them to a friend - they were too big. I assumed your sizes were sock sizes - but when it came, it said they were shoe sizes! Please clatify your website.
My friend liked them.
This is a repeat purchase By Wojo from WI and FL on 03/02/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Cushy, Durable, Keeps ticks out YAY, Regulates Temperature Well, Wicks Away Moisture Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The socks keep ticks out of our boots and off our legs in the field training.
By Birder from Florida on 02/17/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Wicks Away Moisture Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Comfortable, "cushiony", works, but not perfectly. Tried in Central America. These will NOT keep out chiggers unless you also tuck pants into socks! Luckily, they are nice and long and did block the chiggers when tucked. Do not yet know how they will hold up. Worth it as a backup to bugspray, and may provide extra protection. No more expensive than plain hiking socks.
By Hurricane from Bloomington, IL on 02/04/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Cushy, Good Design Best Uses: Anytime Anywhere Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My wife asked me the other night why I was wearing the Ex Officio, or as she calls them the bug socks. My answer was simple, I like them, they feel great and they don't look like something that has to worn for just hunting or fishing.
